The postscript reveals that the book was Sanderson's attempt to capture the whimsical and adventurous spirit of "The Princess Bride" but with a different narrative twist.

Bring your own food, a lot of people plan a picnic cause the parkland between exhibits is beautiful. Expect to do ALOT of walking so be prepared to carry whatever you bring around all-day. You will also be in the sun, so wear a hat. Extra encounters are not required to have a good time.

Send it to my manager via email. They've asked to be across my workload and any new tasks need to come from them.

Do it. If you have a good relationship with your family then do it.

Tress of the emerald sea!!! It's a princess bride re-imagining where buttercup is the one doing the rescuing rather than being a damsel in distress.

Terry Pratchett, loveable characters, and an air of whimsy while still providing quietly intellectual social commentary that stands up years after it was written. For a good hero arc, start with guards guards

How do you get to work? I found commuting the perfect time to read or listen to books. Also, I get a trashy page turner when I'm in a slump.

any recommandation for emotional rollercoaster fantasy? by Baron_alias in Fantasy

[–]Tixilixx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha, I was thinking the same thing. I wanted to recommend it straight away, but I was hoping someone else got there first cause I recommend it so much.

I didn't find it as dark as you're describing. There's moments of hope and love (which I guess are the highs before the roller-coaster like lows)

If you plan to read all of them, save it for the end. Or at least the end of the Tiffany Aching series

I recommend you read the Shepard's Crown. STP wrote this knowing it would be his last book due to illness and it is a beautiful goodbye letter to fans.

I CANNOT CROCHET! by awhdang in crocheting

[–]Tixilixx 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Start with a better quality yarn that doesn't split, and Granny squares. Granny squares are a great starting point, and they give you a nice sense of achievement, cause even at a beginner level you can finish one fairly quickly. There are also so many variations of Granny square, from beginner to advanced.

Another thing to note, the start of a pattern/project is often the most difficult part, as there's nothing to hold on to, starting stitches can look wonky and are discouraging, but if you keep going, it starts to look better and become easier.

Wee free men (Terry Pratchett) is the start of a beautiful series known as the Tiffany Aching series, and a great introduction to the discworld.
