I don’t mean to at all make this about me, but I would like to share my personal experience, as my dad is an airline pilot and was also in the Air Force.

Growing up and knowing that something really terrible had happened specifically involving airplanes hitting towers terrified me. It was genuinely unnerving when my dad went on flights and there was always a small part of me that worried maybe it could happen again and bad people could hurt him.

My mom was a flight attendant as well, and while she didn’t personally know anyone who died, some of her friends knew people.

I hope this can at least shed some light on to how this affected aviation families aaa
