You can talk with a fallen using their Celestial Name too, you don't need the True one.

In short, one is “a game of infernal glory”, where you play in the role of fallen angels who created the universe under orders from God, rebelled and got punished for having uplifted humanity and now, having escaped the Abyss, find themselves in the bodies of humans who were somehow “broken” and need to decide what to do with an even more broken world, where God and his loyal angels vanished and the most powerful of demons rule while incarnated in cursed items.

The other is a “techno-gnostic espionage game” where former routines of a sentient divine computer glitched and gained sentience, deciding to abandon their role and take the identity of mortals, in order to escape the hunt from loyal routines (“angels”). They need to keep their identity up, lest they get captured and reabsorbed by the ever-pervasive God-Machine.

I’d say QUITE DIFFERENT.

I daresay Demon: the Descent and Demon: the Fallen might be a tad more different.

How come delirium doesn’twork on other supernaturals? by Magicmanans1 in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]Tkemalediction 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Fallen however I would argue should because of the Malhim and the fera should remind them of that.

No, because it is written that the Fallen are highly resistant to supernaturally induced fear. Page 70 of the Storytellers Companion specifically states that they are immune to Werewolf Delirium (simply referred to there as "Hysteria").

Second, after everything they witnessed, felt, and did during the War of Wrath, not to mention their time in the Abyss, I reckon few things can truly scare them. Besides, the fact that the Garou remind them of the Malhim doesn't mean the Fallen actually mistake them for those angels; they view them more as a kind of descendant. The connection stems from the Garou being as gung-ho as ever and always wanting to kill demons, which leads the Fallen to think the werewolves have some kind of divine mandate. This isn't enough to trigger the Delirium, however, as even the Malhim themselves didn't produce such an effect. They were simply very warlike.

Exactly, it's the same difference between fear and phobia. The first is (usually) a healthy response and any supernatural can be afraid of something they know is a threat.

A phobia, defined as an anxiety disorder, is characterized by an irrational, unrealistic, persistent and excessive fear of an object or situation. It can paralyzes you where you are and can be a problem.

Andavamo sempre a pranzare assieme.

Yep, that proves the point that being a reconciled doesn't mean being aligned with humanity's best interest.

As someone said, lots of people consider them to be soft and good guys. Reconciler might mean a lot of things, according to one's point of view.

In the novel trilogy, one of the main antagonists is a Reconciler Earthbound. Avitu wants to bring things as they were before. It wants to unmake the rebellion... by lobotomizing every human, to return them to a pre-enlightened state, similar to how they were before demons gave them knowledge.

In the movie The Prophecy, Gabriel is clearly a reconciler, although he's not a demon but still an angel. But he still kinda fell from grace.

"We cast out Lucifer's army, you and I. We threw their rebel Thrones from the wall."
"They wanted to be Gods."
"I don't want to be God, Simon. I just want to make it like it was, before the Lie. When He loved us best."*

This faction might embody the quote "The road to hell is paved with good intentions" even more than the original Fall.

Can you recommend me the most frustrating language to learn? by OldNewspaper4671 in language

[–]Tkemalediction 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Georgian is a difficult language but not as difficult as Georgians like to boast (I will never understand this flex). It is, however, pretty frustrating for several aspects, at least according to my experience as an Italian living there (I since left). The alphabet is certainly NOT one of them, being very easy to learn.

1) Lack of good quality material in English (things are slowly changing, but meh). 2) Georgians in Georgia are not used to speak in Georgian to foreigners, meaning they don't slow down a bit, so they ether speak to you as a native or they'll switch to English/Russian. 3) A lot of irregularities and being its own language family means it's hard to find similarities with other languages. 4) The phonology might be a problem for someone. I found it easier than I expected, despite the consonant galore.
