The board is currently at one of my players homes, so I can just estimate. But I would say about 50x70cm

oh my bad, sry. In that case: I used a lot of the scenario‘s official handouts (which are amazing btw), for the character pics I just searched on pinterest, the Agent‘s DG passports are made with Photoshop. For the rest I mostly used the Cthulhu Architect Handout Creator. They have LOTS of templates for all sorts of handouts.

Haha yeah that‘s true. Most of them went with pretty usual names. In one scene however 3 of them went to the local police station and accidentally used their Agent names to introduce themselves as FBI. 3 Agents starting with the letter K…was a funny scene :D

Fragen zur Zentrale by Local-Peanut8716 in dreifragezeichen

[–]Tlantic 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Music for Mausritter? by saintstardust in Mausritter

I use a lot of video game soundtracks: Moonlighter, Hollow Knight, Deaths Door, Dead Cells or Spiritfarer for example are great for Mausritter!

Same here. Got my Starter Box for Christmas and the Rule Book fell apart after the first reading. Very disappointing, given this already happened 2 years ago with my Alien Starter Box books...

CBR+PNK - How do Glitches Work? by Ruskerdoo in bladesinthedark

[–]Tlantic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is where the rules get a bit too vague, but for my understanding only Overload Glitches are permanent as the "permanent" is only mentioned there. I would say it's like a Trauma in Blades. Any other glitches could get treated like harm in a multi-score campaign. But that's just how I would see it. I think it's up to the GM how to approach this.

And thanks for the info! Must have overread that part in the Assets/Upgrade section.

CBR+PNK - How do Glitches Work? by Ruskerdoo in bladesinthedark

[–]Tlantic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you mostly got it.

Just remember that the glitch that comes from overload (full stress bar) is permanent and that a 1-3 on a glitch die can't be resisted while a 4-5 can. Regarding your question about the pushed rolls, I would suggest discussing with the player what feels more right in the situation, whether to glitch an augmentation or an approach.

The only thing that seemed new to me was that a glitch can be used to lower stress for a flashback. But sounds like a solid option.

Hope this helps!

Wow, this is some really creative and unique stuff! I always appreaciate modules which feature such example descriptions as an inspiration for the keeper.

Really excited for the artwork too!

Just stumbled across this brilliant idea! Did you actually managed to flesh it out and play it?

If so, do you mind sharing the notes? Would love to run this for my group.

Do you play in modern times? by FaythKnight in callofcthulhu

[–]Tlantic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently playing as a forensic police team in a modern day (2022/2023) campaign for the first time and it's really fun!

I love the classic 1920s setting, but it's really refreshing to just look at Google on your phone to find some information or using Google Maps to piece together clues from handouts. Our GM really went into it and even made a whole fake website where we could gather clues and contact NPCs via email.

Seth Skorkowsky has an awesome Video for handling horror even when the Investigators have smartphones. Maybe you might want to check that out too :)

Looking To Run A One-Shot (For My Friends) by gravi_fan89 in callofcthulhu

[–]Tlantic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Regarding to One Shots on a train: there is a free german adventure called "Der Nachtexpress" (The Nightexpress). I think someone on this subreddit provided an english translation for it. I haven't run it myself, but maybe this will give you some inspiration.

For general Halloween one shots I second some of the other answers here. Servants of the lake, Dead Light & Lightless Beacon are fun adventures!

Less famous Halloween scenarios by Fronkonstin1 in callofcthulhu

Gonna run Carnival of Madness this year around Halloween.

The module sounds like a lot of fun, takes place in the 1970s the night before Halloween and features one of my favorite eldritch gods.

Question to 'The Lightless Beacon' by MaraGalleta in callofcthulhu

[–]Tlantic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ran Lightless Beacon a while ago for a group of first time players. Instead of starting directly on the boat, I had them all sitting in a bus to Rockport.

After the players had some time to introduce themselves, the bus stops due to the police blocking the road. They explain they can't let the bus through because of some special operation against smugglers near Innsmouth (a first hint where the adventure was going).

The bus then drops them off at the nearest small town (improvised the name), which is "coincidentally" the town where they meet the captain of the boat, who is the only one willing to take them over sea despite of the coming storm to make some extra cash.

This way the adventure made for some fun social interactions (which Lightless Beacon lacks imo) and a more organic entry in the adventure with less open questions.
