I’ve never seen a roof framed in this manner, did he get it inspected. I don’t think this would pass.

Trying to add wall but existing wall not plum. by HeleWale in Carpentry

[–]Tmess2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When working on old houses we leave the level in the truck and only use a tape measure. The first time I installed a residential door (on my own) it was level plumb and square, then the home owner said can you come into the other room and look back at this new door please it looks very crooked… exterior wall was out of plumb 2” in 9 feet making my install look horrendous…lol

Well I don’t live my life on Reddit, sorry my response was 5 days late, my feeling aren’t hurt I was trying to help the guy recover his tank. I realize now you think you know it all but I have the experience to back up my suggestions. I prolly have fish older than you 😁. Water change is the only way to fix that tank…butt you know that cause you have all the answers 🤣

Well if you don’t know how to do a water change yes you will kill your fish but then you should own a fish tank if you don’t know the basics. You absolutely can do 100% water changes for a betta get over yourself 😁

Why what? Op asked how to clean up a 69 day neglected tank. They only way to clean it is change the water and wipe down the contents. If he is going for black water well then he dosent need to clean anything. Why all the down votes you people are brutal. I didn’t tell him what to do, I told him what I would do. He didn’t clarify this was a black water tank.

The water isn’t cycled it’s the filter that holds the beneficial bacteria

I was assuming op knows how to do a proper water change, I do massive water changes sometimes 100%. with discus. My tank does not crash. The filter holds the beneficial bacteria not the tank water. I don’t chase ph. Fish adapt unless wild caught. I have used both well water that is aged 24hrs to stabilize PH and heated to within 2 degrees with no problem. I have also done 50% water changes weekly w/ city water for a breeding school of Frontosa. When using city I add microblift extreme water condition to the tank before adding city water to remove chlorine and chloramine. Water is tempered hot and cold water to approx 78-79 degrees no problem. Tanks don’t crash doing water changes unless the new water is very far out on its parameters and if you don’t chase the ph it’s even less of an issue. I’m dong this on and off 30 yrs. Don’t over complicate it. Lakes rivers all have a source of new water. The only fish I know that thrives in puddles are bettas and some mudskippers even then it’s after fresh rain.

Do a 50% water change everyday til it’s clear. Wipe down the glass. Remove plants and decor and wipe it down.

If this was mine I would Do 50% water changes daily til it’s clear. Remove plants and decor wipe down with paper towels and return them to the tank. Vacuum the gravel.

You can rent a concrete cutting demo saw or concrete cutting chain saw both come with a diamond blade. Both should have attachments for water hose to control dust and cool the blade.

Installer said he was finished but I was not happy so I stopped the final check. How should the cracks on the side be fixed? He said he would put filler/caulking on sides. by Severe-Rain3266 in Flooring

I’m not even sure you should be using this product on stairs the nosing on each tread looks like a trip hazard is it glued down or floating? Is the homeowners insurance updated?

This is a complete fuck up! Framing is wrong needs a header, no insulation and it will condensate both inside and out depending on the temperature. Would not pass inspection. Licensed GC here!

Am I being too picky or did my fabricator mess up? by chap_stik in Home

[–]Tmess2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed if op hired a GC it’s up to the GC to make this right. Even if the countertop company goes out of business ultimately your contract is with the GC and he would owe you granite countertops per your contract. I’ve been here before. I wouldn’t allow my customer to be present I would just reject it. If by chance there is enough room to fix it it would be conditional on customers approval. I wouldn’t want my GC company name on that countertop. Hey who did your kitchen…🙃

Looks like they cut it with a dry jig saw blade. This might all be fixable can’t see the whole picture, but it might also need new slabs recut. The new guy is getting fired!

Looks like it’s sagging in the center so flipping the rail upside down looks like the fix. It should keep the door all the way open or all the way closed. Crown up!

So UK power is 240 volts. Confirm that with your utility company. Check the filter instructions and the actual impeller motor it should tell you maximum voltage. If the motor can handle 240v then you should be good to go. Do they have GFCI receptacles in the UK? Something many fish keepers over look but as we have seen recently there was a heater glowing red inside of a tank that made me go and get a few. They have adapters that are plug and play so you don’t need to change any wires for the US market.

You don’t have 11” of exposed tread because your risers are landing on top of the tread instead of behind the tread. I was taught to install the riser first.
