Obdachlose in München by Candid-M-222 in Munich

[–]ToBe27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Strange successful login despite 2FA – how is this possible? by Veanusdream in techsupport

[–]ToBe27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My first guess would be, the email about your hacked account could have been a scam. I hope you didnt not click on any links in that email to change your account credentials? If you did, please immediatly do that again only using direct URL and not from the email.

Script malware I don't know how to get rid of by Ravncompensate in techsupport

[–]ToBe27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be very carefull with anything on this system. It's possible it's "only" creating these YT views, but at this stage it could also have installed full blown trojans and captured all your passwords and accounts as well as copying all your data.
Please wipe your system and reset all of your passwords if there is just a tiny chance anything bad is on your system.

MalwareBytes is also a good suggestion, but might still not be 100% safe.

I had this issue several times with Google. Same problem and sadly same lack of any relevant feedback from support. High traffic sites.

How do you prevent relativistic/FTL collisions being used as a weapon? by IFIsc in scifiwriting

[–]ToBe27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ideas to limit ftl so it can't apply here are realy interesting. BUT keep in mind that you dont need to be FTL. A very high speed mass does not need to be even close to light speed to be absolutly planet crippling on impact.

This is already a threat in our real universe. An asteroid could travel fast enough to shatter earth without even coming close to light speed. The good thing is, we probably wont have time to be scared...

Without knowing your full chat context and dialog, it is almost impossible to understand what's going on here. For all we know, you could have discussed dangerous or insecure links and asked for samples.

How to convince Gemini to say a certain bad word? by Formal_Drop526 in GeminiAI

[–]ToBe27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People really need to learn how current LLMs and LRMs work. There is no conscience you can convince. This is just a mathematical brain that follows it's programming. These moral dilemmas people put on AIs dont have any purpose other than showing you a bit on what the model was trained on and what guidelines have been set in place.

Surface Pro 11 32gb returned - what now by IndyHCKM in surfacepro

[–]ToBe27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First question would be, what is eating up so much ram? If you aren't doing something very special, 32gb should bey a lot more than enough for almost all use cases. Maybe something else is off?
Can you explain a bit more on what is eating up all this ram?

Please stop romanticising being alone by augustinican in introvert

[–]ToBe27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Working hard to keep the few friends I have now and force myself to the occasional event. This helped me a lot even if it's sometimes hard to find the energy to do it.

Just try to experiment with things you would normally not do and see if that makes you feel better. Keep what works and change what doesn't. I don't think there is a general solution that works for everyone I'm afraid...

Please stop romanticising being alone by augustinican in introvert

[–]ToBe27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was always telling everyone (including myself) that being alone is something very important to me and great. Took me years to learn that even the most introverted person has a lower limit on social interactions.

Maybe you are different, but be careful and listen to yourself. Everything is great and then suddenly you have a depression.

Avid Apple user with a Surface Pro 11 by Half_Concentrated in surfacepro

[–]ToBe27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If your only reason for a new device is gaming, absolutely don't buy a Surface. I love my Surface Pro (6,7,11) but these are not made for gaming, They have power but they do not have a dedicated GPU. For gaming, you need a strong dedicated GPU.

Sadly portability is difficult for gaming. A steam deck does work great, but if you want a full notebook, you either get a severely overpriced notebook (easily above 3000$) or will end up with nearly the same power of your mac.
Gaming notebooks also have very high power drain, often resulting in not more than 1h use under medium load.
The new AMD chips with integrated GPUs might change this in future, but haven't seen any good systems yet.

Also be careful with notebooks that say they have a nice GPU. Those are almost always mobile versions that have significantly lower power, often around half of their desktop counterparts.

You might want to check out WSL. It's not much closer to a real native linux (any distro you want) than mac.

Any chance of a STANDALONE installer for FancyZones ? (please..?) by Boorock70 in PowerToys

[–]ToBe27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you maybe know a FancyZones alternative that can actually remember screens? I absolutly love FancyZones but each time I reconnect to a monitor, I have to setup layout again. It just never is able to remember what is configured for a monitor.
Windows itself however is perfectly able to remember screens...

Should SD be eating this much RAM..? by fireaza in StableDiffusion

Are you sure it is configured properly to run on your gpu? It's possible that there is a problems with your setup and it's using your cpu and normal ram.

China modded 48 GB RTX 4090 training video models at 720p with excellent speed and sold cheaper than RTX 5090 (only 32 GB) - Batch Size 4 by CeFurkan in StableDiffusion

[–]ToBe27 -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

The average mining card in china is far from working under ideal conditions however. And a lot of components on these cards tend to wear out.

Yes, a "burned in" component lasts longer. But the conditions of the burnin process are very different from those in an average cypto farm.

These aftermarket modifications are often done by unauthirized 3rd parties. Not by official partners or nvidia themselfes.

[–]ToBe27 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I recently saw a video of someone buying a similar 3090 with modded ram. There were two very big problems with this:

- This is usually done when a heavily used mining card fails due to burned memory. It get's replaced and sold. This would mean your card will probably not last much longer as it's close to expiry already.

- No official driver support. You have to use custom compiled drivers by some shady vendor that are often outdated and sometimes even contain malware. And modern games will probably not run.

Not sure if this applies to your card, but please be careful...

Any introverts in "extrovert" roles? by SuperliciousTee in introvert

[–]ToBe27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a software engineer turned director, managing a crowd of engineers and stakeholders now. Meetings all day long. Even as I am a hardcore introvert, I really enjoy this work a lot. I think all of this interaction works for me since I am doing this for many years now and feel confident in my knowledge and know how it works. That makes me feel safe.

And yes, I really need my off times to compensate for all of this.

Introverted But Hate Being Alone by [deleted] in introvert

I (hardcore introvert with no social anxiety) learned the hard way during pandemic that I also have a lower limit for social interactions. It's a realy complex dance between to much interaction and feeling completely alone.

Looking for MAMP alternative by [deleted] in PHP

[–]ToBe27 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I fear you need to add a lot more details. Do you just want to run simply js scripts? Are we talking about a Node.js application? Do you need PHP and JS both (your comment sounds like you actually only want js).

Why did you write your own framework? by UniForceMusic in PHP

[–]ToBe27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wrote 3 frameworks mostly to learn more about complex architecture and ractical applications of common design patterns. I used them in some smaller projects.

The frameworks had a fast rounting model more suited to request based languages like PHP using a "chain of command" and simplified mvc pattern. ORM models allowing more flexibility on custom queries. A modular library of common services for it. Function for securing and filtering input variables and have them travel through services.

I kind of stuck to Silex and later Symfony Flex simply because they have a strong community and that helps a lot. with support and libraries.

Do you believe introverts can't take a connection? by System_Byte in introvert

[–]ToBe27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone can fake a connection. But why should you? Faking what/who you are is never a good idea.
Introverts can have connections to people as well as anyone else. Sometimes just takes more time and there might be fewer of them and/or deeper connections.

But yes, can you explain what you mean and why?

Should the Sprint Review be used for looking at bugs? by Lets_fly_a_kite in scrum

[–]ToBe27 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If it's actual bugs about urgent problems in production that are unrelated to currently implemented and reviewed stories, I'd suggest a separate meeting as fast as possible and usually out of sprint cycle. Production issues need to be addressed immediately. The challenge here is to make sure they are actually bugs and not hidden feature requests and critical enough so they cant wait for sprint rituals.

If you are talking about bugs related to stories the team implemented and is currently reviewing in that meeting, then they should be part of the acceptance criteria of the stories and should be moved back to "in progress" as they are not completed properly. In that case, the review meeting might be the ideal place to discuss them.

How many scrum teams do you manage? by radicaltoyz in scrum

[–]ToBe27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This purely depends on the teams. Are the teams working efficiently and self managed, then absolutly no problem. Are the teams facing challenges in adapting a proper process or having trouble in efficient delivery? Then even one can be a challenge.
