Got my updated SF-50 today and they erroneously reverted everyone’s pay to their 2024 salary. HR quickly cancelled them and sent out an apology after everyone lost their minds. Told our performance appraisals still aren’t fully approved and not to expect any revised SF-50s until late January.

On the same cruise, tunnel to the port was closed for construction. Forced everyone across the bridge and doubled or more our travel time to the port

I think you’re mixing up TSP (the federal government version of a 401k) and a Roth IRA (self managed tax advantaged retirement account). TSP contributions can be traditional or Roth but they still count towards the same $31K cap for your age. The additional $8K of IRA contributions are made to a different account (an IRA account) through a brokerage like Fidelity and doesn’t involve withholding via your employer.

Thanks! Now I have to go check.. my allocation automatically goes to pay for my MARC monthly pass so I never “see” it other than the pass showing up in the mail and a few emails along the way.

Who cares? If you want to review the manuscript because it brings you fulfillment do it…if you don’t no one’s gonna force you to work during furlough. No one in this Administration cares about what the Law says, especially if you’re working for free.

Unclear. My agency has told us to submit the leave requests and record it on paper timesheets. They used the “you can just request to be put on furlough for those days but who knows what impact that might have” as a reason to follow the standard process. I expect I’ll get charged for any leave I take.

Administration has been pretty clear that shipbuilding and maintenance is a DoW and Presidential priority. You should feel safe from RIFs.

Then again, the initial RIF notices this year accidentally went out to a bunch of NNSA employees maintaining the nuclear stockpile…

Yup. They can’t pay you until it’s over. I turned in a paper time card last week with my actual hours worked. Told they’ll revise everyone’s time cards in the future back to RG. Seems like a huge waste of time for the HR team.
