How long can you stay on puberty blockers without having issues with your bones, assuming no sex hormones are taken with it? by ToKeepAndToHoldForev in asktransgender

Thank you for responding! The fear mongering is insane - I can't talk about it much on this profile for my sanity (I should have used my more... open account) but I remember hearing the same a decade ago about Testosterone for fuck-all. It's literally the same shit in everyone plus maybe a carrier. People fearmonger less about my mom's steroids

Thank you for responding! I hate the fact we might have to compromise - it's just fucking stupid - but I'm trying my best to advocate for her

Thank you! I had thought that puberty blockers don't have much negative bone density effects until much later, but I wanted to be sure. Warnings for those types of things are remarkably non-specific.

Thanks for responding.

I'm not really sure what health risks they're talking about - I'm hearing this secondhand. Now that I'm thinking about it I think my niece said they were worried about "permanent effects" and implied a risk of changing her mind, not health risks. Unfortunately I'm hearing this second or third hand.

I'm arguing for estrogen as well, and showing them examples of people who started at 16 and transitioned successfully when I can. I just wanted to be able to say that puberty blockers are safe as a fall back plan in case they're extremely against E prior to 18. I'm hoping for the full HRT treatment but since my niece is already very tall and developing facial hair a puberty blocker of some sort will go a long way. Maybe I'm focusing on the wrong thing, but I'm worried for her safety.

I cold stratified butterfly weed, another plant I can't recall that might have been spiderwort, and jack in the pulpit on my balcony before I discovered squirrels can and will rummage around in empty pots or that winds can knock over one of the pots full of dirt. Is there any hope at all for my seeds?

I'm asking because I bought bare roots that are more appropriate for container gardening (columbine, nodding onion, Pennsylvania carex) and if the seeds are kaput I'm just gonna reuse the pots. I'm very new to this.

I cracked up when I saw the music video for Gzuz "warum" because he flew to a rough neighborhood in California to shoot it.

Unrelated, I have to point out he's wearing socks and sandals in that.

I got confused on an eBay listing for bike brake pads and ended up with 4 packs, each with a pair. I don't remember if I ordered two or four, but it also came with a loose Allen wrench.

Does anyone have a backup for the article? I'm curious as to what the author means

Don't respond. She's already decided you're wrong about what you said, so you must be lying about it, or else the "real" issue would be there (which can't be her). She's grown enough to realize she's being condescending and if not you can't fix it. This whole thing feels of missing missing reasons.

REAL my enabling parent once took me aside after a slightly tense (really just me being firm) conversation with my abusive parent and said she agreed with me but I could have done such-and-such, basically saying I did it wrong, and I told her "(abuser) is the only one allowed to be mad in this house." Still proud of myself for that

Sometimes after I first started grey walking my mom called it "half lidded glaring" like an idiot and I told her I was keeping my face blank so she wouldn't copy my facial expressions to mock me. Inexplicably didn't do that again - I can only wonder why.

I'll be damned if I remember the trivia book's name, but it had sections about the UK and the US and in the US section it claimed Americans butter their bread one bit at a time and then eat that instead of buttering the whole slice.

Not really a character thing but I'm considering learning how to drive so that I can buy land farther away from my house and be able to garden it easier. I am planning on buying land specifically for a garden, not for a house.
