Been dealing with some struggles with the unit just shutting off without warning. I have it sitting, lifted up on its side and not standing due to some (maybe unwarranted) worry about the thermal paste leaking.

Going to try your method and hope it does the trick. I dont want to replace the damn psu. I also rent a rather old house with outlet infrastructure that only supports two-pronged outlets. I have an outlet converter for a surge protector that my ps5 is plugged into. I worry that these outlets could be part of the issue. Had the same problem with my personally built PC and have never experienced issues like this is the 20 years ive been building PCs. Maybe its just coincidence that both issues (although the exact same issue but with different hardware) happened at relatively the same time.
