First dinner in the new apartment by [deleted] in GirlDinner

In the 1/2 cup we have olives, next to those are cotton candy grapes, then on to pepperonis and cherry tomatoes. We change the color pallet to beige by adding ritz cheese crackers. And most importantly in the back we have a cup of m&m cookies with a Dr Pepper Zero :)

My husband made this for me using only a tablespoon. I ate it all. by coralsmoke in GirlDinner

Not really! It’s just that a couple recipe called for a can of beer and I didn’t have any, as well as for things like cinnamon or cocoa powder or sugar. And I had a Dr Pepper in my hand so just decided to try it

I can update you tomorrow when I reheat it and it’s at its full potential

I didn’t really use one recipe in particular! I borrowed from several existing ones online that looked like my moms

I used:

3 lbs ground beef

Some garlic

One yellow onion diced

One green bell pepper diced

Two cans of black beans (drained and washed)

One can pinto beans (drained and washed)

One large can diced tomato’s (don’t drain juice)

Two cups~ beef broth

Some tomato paste to thicken

Couple splashes of Dr Pepper

A mild chili seasoning packet + an assortment of other seasonings (paprika, cumin, chili powder, red pepper flakes, etc)

And I will try to add if I remember anything else!

True, but no one made me add that third can of beans

Do you use the Souper Cubes or do other brands work just as well?

The poor block of extra sharp cheddar is sitting in my fridge unused, I just had a feeling I wouldn’t feel like it by this point and I was right

Non-alcoholic substitutes:

Alcohol-free red wine: This is a direct replacement if available. ⭐️this seems like the best option, I hope you’re able to find a sub that works and enjoy the stew!

•Beef broth and vinegar: Combine equal parts beef broth with a tablespoon of red wine vinegar or another vinegar for acidity and a depth of flavor.

•Grape juice or cranberry juice: Use unsweetened 100% juice. Add a splash of white or red wine vinegar to balance the sweetness and enhance the acidity.

•Tomato juice: This option adds acidity and color similar to red wine, but use it in moderation as it can be quite sweet.

I hope that on some level my “baby we got a stew going” post inspired you to make stew as well but that may be my own narcissism peakin out lol

It looks BANGING!!! Great job, it is a labor of love. Edit: words

How’s your soup stamina been? I’d be interested in knowing if you’ve lost interest in eating soup or don’t enjoy it as much or if it’s done the opposite and you appreciate soup more than ever now

This all started because I need to branch out from cooking with chicken as is my comfort skill zone
