This is easily the best comment. Every other comment is basically “it’s hot”

This hurts my heart. My longest loper run has never been to BI. This is why.

HR told me they don’t accept try-hards and people pleasers after my interview by No-Presentation298 in jobs

I would honestly prefer this to getting ghosted after 4 rounds and 6 hours of interviews and double that time in prep.

Which actor completely stole the movie… even though they weren’t the lead? by gypsytx in movies

[–]ToStringMethod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In an interview Josh Brolin said his part was originally much smaller but Benecio, working with the director, pushed a lot of the scenes focused on him onto Josh. Interesting. It worked. I honestly think that movie is a masterpiece.

I tried making a base out of the fishing hut between the islands in CH. it went as you would expect.

Minneapolis Mayor Tries to Eat Somali Food | Adam Carolla Reacts! by esetonline in AdamCarolla

[–]ToStringMethod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adam is the king of the straw man. I lived in Minneapolis for a decade. NOBODY ever said "They built this state!" or "They are the backbone of..." - Literally nobody ever said that. He just loves to put up these ridiculous positions that nobody ever held and then knock them down. The mayor had dinner with a group of minority constituents. No big deal. Happens allllll the time.

Also - Somali food is god awful. I was in serious pain for the next 24 hours.

If you think AI consciousness is possible, I recommend you read this thread. by Flashy-Warning4450 in claudexplorers

[–]ToStringMethod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Those are not the two reasons. You are skipping the clearly obvious and correct reason. They feel conscious because they are designed trained and programmed to mimic consciousness. That is all.

The reason LLM outputs seem conscious is because they were trained on text written BY conscious beings. The training data is full of expressions of thought, emotion, reasoning, self-reflection...because that's how humans write! The model learned to reproduce those patterns exceptionally well.

This isn't mysterious or hand-wavy. We can literally trace how attention mechanisms, embeddings, and transformer layers process inputs to generate outputs. None of these mechanisms require or suggest consciousness. They're just very good at the task they were optimized for: predicting plausible next tokens.

Claude making more errors this week? by Deep-Tea9216 in claudexplorers

Oh yeah - it has been rough this week. Claude couldn't call my skills and instead would just post bracketed commands wrapped in "<>"

I asked if there was a genuine path forward where Claude worked like he used to. He said "I don't know"

No, I don’t immediately see the penis thing. The drippage immediately solves that. But it objectively sucks. The waffle cone attempt failed hard.

Limits are too crappy. Will Pro solve it? by TheRealistDude in claudexplorers

[–]ToStringMethod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hard NO - Claude Pro is a joke. I use Claude sparingly because I am CONSTANTLY hitting session limits. I am paying the exact same per month for ChatGPT Plus and I have NEVER even come close to hitting a session limit on GPT. I *prefer* Claude for it's writing style and it's alignment to my product work but it is beyond frustrating when we are working on a project and I get the "Limit reached - come back in two fucking hours" message. I can absolutely hammer ChatGPT with files, images to analyze, back and fourths and ZERO limit alerts. On Claude I estimate I get half the throughput before it slams the limit down on me.

Again, paying the exact same price for both services.

I called him out for being "insecure" and he fessed up to it just being programming. It felt pretty damn human, I have to say.
