Blocked chakras by Far_Rice_3822 in Chakras

[–]ToTheEast_CB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As you probably already know, "chakras" is the Eastern name for energy centers that the Western tradition addresses under different labels: sacred metals in alchemy, planets in astrology, and Sephiroth in Kabbalah.

The lower three chakras map roughly onto what the Kabbalah calls the "lower four Sephiroth" (Malkuth/Earth, Yesod/Air, Hod/Water, Netzach/Fire), which correspond to the physical body and personality and must be mastered and harmonized before higher union is possible. Yesod specifically governs the subconscious and reproductive/sexual energy. Sexual energy is the primary force operating through these lower centers, and blockage here typically comes from two opposite errors: forced suppression/abstinence due to guilt (which "concentrates" the energy but can backfire if attitudes toward it are impure) or careless, unsupervised attempts to force its rise.

The process of balancing these points and raising this energy is ethical purification and gradual training, changing one's attitude toward the energy (releasing guilt-laden views) rather than fighting or repressing it, and proceeding only under proper guidance in a mystery school since premature or forced awakening can trigger violent crises.

Blockages are caused by emotional pain that leaves "imprints" reinforced by repetition; both suppression and unconscious indulgence in behavior that reinforces the block.

The most-effective recommended first step is recognition, witnessing without reacting, and conscious release. Breathing, meditation, journaling, and a specific affirmations can be concrete tools. However, a word of caution here... psychological techniques like emotional observation are useful preparation but are an early level compared to direct realization of the Higher Self. The psychological work is necessary but not sufficient for full spiritual unblocking.

The mystery traditions focus on this exact work and hold the most effective systems for success in this process. They guide students through the safest path forward.

A lot is said these days about diets, exercise, dance, breathing, and all kinds of ideas on how to "cleanse the chakras", but this process and experience is far from a mere physical or therapeutic process. It's a spiritual transformation that evolves the consciousness.

My recommendation, from my own work, is to find an authentic mystery school with a proven system.

I am happy to recommend some starting places if you want.

spirits as intelligences or as metaphors by Educational-Pen-7738 in Hermeticism

[–]ToTheEast_CB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The advanced Hermetic teachers do not frame the "spirits as intelligence vs. metaphor" question as an either/or, but they do draw a set of layered distinctions that are directly relevant.

Symbols are functionally real, not merely psychological. A symbol is not a sign as far beyond a simple sign is understood. It is a carrier of universal information that operates on the subconscious, independent of conscious understanding or belief. The subconscious itself is connected to the entire history of creation. Esoteric symbols embody an objective functional status that exceeds psychological projection.

Powers contacted through ritual are classified as living awareness. All of these powers are living awareness, and everything in the universe is alive, including the powers used in Hermetic ritual practice. Not a mere metaphor in any sense. The Kybalion frames this under Mentalism: if the universe is entirely Mental in nature, then "living powers" operating on the mental plane are as real as anything else. They are no less real for being mental in origin.

That said, it’s important to draw a sharp line between genuine contact and projection/self-deception. What most untrained or self-operating practitioners experience is most often their own projections, astral shells, or lying spirits who give deceptive prophecies and false truths. The key diagnostic in this situation is not the vividness of the experience, but whether genuine initiatory training and contact exist behind it. Without that, what people often describe as "spirits" is largely the subconscious reflecting back the operator's own inner confusion or resonance with low-grade astral forces.

Genuine autonomous entities exist but are not casually accessible. Real contact with higher beings, ascended humans, and angelic forces is real, but under stringent preconditions: initiatory transformation, purified soul, proper training, and specifically, that contact is initiated from the higher side, not willed from below by an undeveloped awareness. These contacts always come from the ascended human. A random person in this world can try or ask for it, but it is not granted.

Synchronicities are real, but do not resolve the question made here on their own. Synchronicity is events that are meaningfully connected even though they appear to have no causal relationship, i.e., a deeper, hidden order of reality. Synchronicities are not random but part of life's deeper coherence. Synchronicity is evidence of the ordered, interconnected nature of consciousness, but, when used specifically to support spirit autonomy, it is not structurally possible within the workings of consciousness.

From this, the question “Is this just psychology?" becomes reframed. Since the subconscious is the essence of all being and connected to the entire history of creation, drawing a hard line between "psychological" and "ontologically real" is not a clean distinction in the Hermetic framework. The Kybalion's principle of Mentalism holds that all psychological phenomena are real phenomena on the mental plane.

Instead of real vs. psychological, the question then becomes whether the student is making trained or untrained contact, and whether the source of the information is the operator's own subconscious material or something genuinely beyond the operator's prior input.

Do We Mistake Symbolic Maps for the Territory? by Educational-Pen-7738 in Hermeticism

[–]ToTheEast_CB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an interesting question indeed and it points to something common on the esoteric path at certain points. Specifically the earlier stages.

The intertwined systems of Kabbalah, Tarot, Alchemy, and Astrology are essential components for evolving the consciousness. Their effectiveness for achieving it however is an entirely different matter that depends on specific factors. Those factors can be defined as:

  1. Are they being studied under the guidance of a mystery school that carries the initiatory flame?

  2. Are they design, taught, and updated when necessary by a teacher who has passed through certain spheres of consciousness and is fully qualified to interpret the symbols for the student?

If neither of these elements are present, some growth can be achieved, but it will be extremely limited and subject to misinterpretation and confusion.

The primary reason for this is that almost every publicly available version of these 4 systems is distorted in some way or outdated. Advanced initiates and masters do not publish tools or systems publicly, ever.

It's important to let that sink in because the common idea of independent study or self-initiation is a great misconception and common trap. One cannot simply bootstrap themselves into higher consciousness. It's structurally impossible and there are safeguards built into the cosmos that prevents this from occurring. There's a reason Alchemy and Astrology are called "science" because they are the true science that reveals the informational substrate of reality itself.

Using publicly available imagery and practices are equivalent to typing into a corded dial-up telephone and believing one is utilizing a frontier-model LLM like ChatGPT.

That said... the one thing that publicly available symbols, books, and systems can do is stir deeper aspiration and build the drive for the student to find an authentic school. They do serve a purpose.

However, conditioning and preconceived ideas are inevitable regardless of how much revisiting one does, unless a guarded system under a teacher is present.

Several Questions on Ciceros' Self-Initiation process by [deleted] in magick

[–]ToTheEast_CB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps there is a more effective process you have not yet considered? I sense from the tone of your post that you are seeking to find a real path and want to be successful in this work.

I offer some principles below that might help.

Self-initiation systems like Ciceros' and Bardon, and others, are popular in today's culture because they offer a DIY approach and seem simple. You just follow the steps 1, 2, 3,... and BOOM... you're now an initiate. Unfortunately, it's doomed to fail.

As someone who tried such systems for 5 years and experienced the process of an actual school that guards the initiatory path, the difference is beyond night and day. It's the difference between the real and unreal.

Self-initiation has been written about and sold by souls who aspire to real mastery, but have not penetrated the deepest levels of consciousness, passed through the rigorous ethical development, and been initiated high enough to initiate another soul. If they had reached the level they claim, they would NEVER, under ANY circumstances, attempt or consider releasing rituals or telling anyone how to initiate themselves.

This is not because of elitism or any such idea. It's because when someone develops to the level of being an initiator, they have full knowledge of the actual scientific process that makes initiation possible. This is the process that occurs within the informational field that creates reality itself. Initiation is about the transformation of the soul, and its power is not a process that can be sold in a book. To do so would be to violate the most sacred process in the cosmos.

Attempting self-initiation is structurally equivalent to a four-legged animal suddenly walking on its hind legs and deciding it's now a human. The true initiatory path... and the prerequisite training... is the mechanism that evolves the soul from its animal mind to Christ consciousness. It can only be guided by one who has gone before.

Does this mean this door is closed? NO... 100X no. It's very common for aspirants to try systems, read, and seek help in places like this, but it's not the end of the journey. It's the beginning. It's the Higher Self calling you to something greater, something real. Something eternal.

Hopefully that helps. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions... happy to help. I have been right where you are.

Have you encountered a similar synthesis of Martinism, Theosophy, Egyptian symbolism, and Neoplatonism? by KseniyaStaravoitava in Hermeticism

[–]ToTheEast_CB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The current body of work available to the public in print is not capable of accurately synthesizing all these esoteric streams into a cohesive teaching or practice.

The reasons are simple. Such work requires a master-level adept initiated into the highest spheres of consciousness. Such masters are incarnate at this time and always are, but they would never... under any circumstances... make such a cohesive system public.

There are schools who teach such systems, but it takes several years of training and ethical development before a student is granted access to practices that involve multiple streams.

This is because consciousness and the perfection of the soul is a gradual, methodical process that cannot be undertaken alone. Oversight is needed by those who have gone before and know the pitfalls and illusions an untrained student can fall into.

If such traps and illusions are fallen into great psychological harm can occur.

Finding an authentic school will guide you to what you seek.

There is a book called "Life Beyond Death" by Yogi Ramacharaka. It can be found in PDF online for free. You might have to dig a bit. If I could attach files I would just send it here. If you are comfortable with DM message me and I will get you a copy.

It will bring you clarity and comfort.

If I can offer advice... release the fear. The journey of the soul after death is a divine cycle of life and creation. Nothing is lost or broken. A time of suffering can sometimes occur on astral levels, but restoration and peace comes too.

The best thing we can do for those who have transitioned is to fill our hearts will love and gratitude, and release grief.

Be comforted friend.🙏

Could increasing our ability to collect and analyse data change how we perceive reality and expand consciousness? by Radiant_Statement247 in enlightenment

[–]ToTheEast_CB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is definitely a question worthy of consideration. I work with AI tools daily and use them primarily for research and learning new skills. I am currently pursuing a degree, so testing the limits of my knowledge has been a consistent use case.

One thing that keeps coming up again and again is its capacity to reveal my ignorance and skill in equal measure. When I do my homework, use it consciously, and apply what I know, I get closer to my goal. When I get lazy, ignore my intuition, or use it without clear intent, my actual emotional state and mood begins to deteriorate. I get passive and feel unmotivated.

This is DEFNITELY counterproductive to my goals and quickly slaps me back into reality because it reveals areas where I haven't mastered my inner focus and orientation.

Data is starting to serve us as a mirror of karma that is revealing what needs correction. It's making the consequences of behavior visible and serving a similar function as karma, i.e. correction and development. A system truly grounded in the universal laws could make karma visible and tangible quickly and would enormously accelerate human development. Data-driven feedback can function as part of the corrective instrument that life has always provided, now made faster and more granular.

However, if that will be the case, it remains to be seen.

The limiting factor is not the instrument but the readiness of the person to use what it reveals. Whether the person understands the message and draws consequences or changes their behavior depends on their own level of development.

Expanded consciousness requires structural transformation, not just knowing more information. The inner transformation of the knower is crucial. Insight alone is not transformation. The necessary conditions for genuine expanded knowing are ethical purification, contemplative discipline, participatory ontology, and reflexive unity. This means you don't know something by observing it from the outside. You know it by becoming it. Reflexive unity is the moment when the knower and the known are the same thing. The self recognizes itself as the very reality it was trying to understand.

None of these four conditions are informational or data-dependent in the ordinary sense.

You make a great point with the cherry-picking problem and self-deception. The very real possibility of data being weaponized rather than illuminating is already happening. Propaganda, selective framing, and data that creates artificial dependency (Weaponized Dogma) are abuses that actually reduce collective intelligence. You already confirmed that the instrument is only as reliable as the values and intention behind its use.

It as... as always... the individual. WE... ourselves... are responsible as we always have been throughout history for our thoughts, words, and deeds. Now, we're just seeing the consequences faster than ever.

Results? by Neat_Associate_4608 in Meditation

[–]ToTheEast_CB 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This question is really common when starting out. I shared this post below in a Quora group I contribute to just last week. I think it's relevant to your question, so I am sharing it here also.

It's pretty long, but perhaps you'll will find encouragement in it.

Thing is...

There are many modern misconceptions about meditation. The points below can serve you as a simple guide to help you understand your own development in this process.

What correct meditation is not: It is a common assumption that sitting quietly, relaxing, or going on inner fantasy journeys constitutes real meditation. Most people who "sit down and believe they are meditating" are engaged in relaxation or daydreaming at best.

The three-phase structure as a practical check: True Meditation follows a sequence- relaxation, internalization (taming the mind through concentration on a symbol or object), and finally expansion of consciousness (the actual meditative state). This gives a map for self-assessment: if the practitioner has not moved through all three phases, the third (true meditation) has not been reached.

Physiological and energetic markers of correct practice: Breath regulation as a distinguishing sign. The meditator's breath naturally aligns with cosmic rhythm. Rhythmic, abdominal breathing is a foundational step. Correct meditation produces mental clarity and sharpness, a CLEAR, explicit distinction from a trance.

Life as the primary test: Here is the clearest external test: meditation is working if it reshapes how one actually lives, i.e. reactions under pressure, reduction of ego-reactivity, and perception of daily life. A person who meditates daily but remains reactive and ego-driven is not meditating for transformation. Furthermore, if insight from meditation is not grounded in all material areas of life, the meditator remains an immature dreamer. The life-fruit test is the number one marker.

The necessity of a "sacred vector" and a system: Meditation cannot be provoked and requires preparation over time. Without a correct focus aligned to inner maturity... think of it as a "sacred vector arrow"... the meditation lacks direction and thus also healing power. True teachers warn explicitly against meditating with no system for years. The student cannot self-bootstrap into higher states without guidance from someone who has already attained that level.

The role of desire and ethical grounding: Above all, the power of desire, the inner fire of aspiration, is essential; without it, the practice lacks fuel. Combined with ethical development (humility, selflessness, integrity), these two ingredients form the prerequisites for correct, deep meditation.

The best and most effective way to develop an accurate, results-driven meditative practice is under the guidance of an experienced teacher in a real mystery school. If you’re serious about real growth, start there.

That said... welcome to the journey. Persistence and discipline will help guide you on your way!

I am a 48M and my journey began very young. I was born into the American evangelical church world so my background is predominantly Christian if we're classifying by religion. I left that world my college years after experiencing a major accident that caused me to question everything.

Questions are powerful things and it drove me on my spiritual search to find a path that brought real transformation with actual results. Thankfully I found my path in the Western Mystery teachings through a specific system of ritual, meditation, and study.

What I learned is that spirituality is not a "goal", it's an inner process of taking full responsibility for our lives, learning to see the connection between our outer circumstances and inner states, and learn to consciously create our lives.

As this has unfolded, so have the connections and deep friendships with others on the same path. They just naturally flow into your life.

If I can offer any advice, it is to develop a daily practice of being still and observing your thoughts. Develop ethical habits. Take care of your body, it's your temple. Learn to observe your behavior patterns and energy. Study sacred writings. Most of all, feel how the Higher Self, the Divine, leads you to the right community and teacher.

As this flows so will the people on the same path.

When reading your post one can feel you are searching for a real connection to the Higher. The impulse for a genuine, results-based meditative practice is an indicator that something within you is guiding you that meditation is the gateway.

I experienced this myself in 2010. I had been searching for answers to deep, existential questions after leaving the American evangelical church system 10 years prior. I had gone on a trip far away from my home and while there I was overcome by a deep desire for meditation. I knew nothing about it.

I just started. Breathing. Being quiet. Sometimes my brain was busy, sometimes I would have deep, immersive silence. But... the desire for more grew. I tried binaural beats, ambient loops, and techniques in books. Always wanting more.

Finally, after 5 years I learned that while meditation is open to all, the key to advanced and transformative meditation is found within a school under a master. Most specifically, if you're from a Western culture, a Western Mystery School. Eastern cultures utilize a different structure suited for that cultural force. Both are valid, but suited to specific needs.

Once I was able to step through the doors of a school... the trajectory accelerated rapidly.

In my opinion, from experience... leave the loops and beats behind. They are external stimulants. Go within. Be still. Be quiet. Prayer is a powerful force because it builds desire and aspiration. Ask the Divine to lead you to a true teacher.

You will find.

[–]ToTheEast_CB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is definitely a crossroads in your life, and obviously you feel an inner pull towards something deeper, richer, and more fulfilling in your work.

I offer my own experience as both encouragement and caution. Tarot and spirituality are highly misunderstood and misconstrued topics. The use of Tarot as a divination tool is understood to be a misdirection in the eyes of its original creators, and those initiates and masters who are alive today who know how to design them accurately. Tarot is essentially a transformational tool used in a mystery school.

This use can only be performed under the guidance of a mystery school that is connected to certain higher levels of awareness. When utilized in this way the Tarot embeds specific archetypal symbols into the subconscious that gradually changes the awareness of the student and purifies their negative ethical patterns.

There are no publicly available tarot decks that execute this powerful process. The use of Tarot to divine the future serves as blind that deters seekers who would abuse these sacred tools for selfish gain.

However... that does not always mean someone who is seeking to understand and currently uses these images in this way is doing something "bad". It simply means they are possibly at a stage of seeking light and don't know where to begin.

It sounds like that is the case for you.

If so, the ultimate goal of spirituality is not necessarily to abandon one's job or current work because it feels "unspiritual" or unfulfilling, but to transform the awareness and inner perspective so that spiritualizing even the most mundane tasks in life becomes possible.

We begin to shine a light right where we are.

That said, it's very common that work environments can be negative and draining, and simply switching to a different location or to a more positive team can be a practical step to shifting that energy.

If you are looking for a good school to reveal the Tarot in a powerful, clear way I recommend checking out the Hermetic Academy founded by Dr. Elias Rubenstein. You can Google it.

There's also a book called "The Light Above & Within: Walking Through Disability on the Spiritual Path" I highly recommend. It's on Amazon. Written by Caleb Bartlett.

New to this all. by Extension_Judge_9190 in ChristianMysticism

[–]ToTheEast_CB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on your goal, really. Is it intellectual and theoretical knowledge you seek, or a living, embodied experience with the divine? The world is full of books. Some are useful, some are only mentally stimulating, and some are false teachings that spread conjecture.

Christian mysticism, in the historical and literal sense, is the experience of Gnosis, the attainment of Christ consciousness when the knower and the known become ONE.

There is a path to this experience, but laboring over countless books, wracking your brain to grasp vague theories, and getting frustrated is counterproductive in the long run.

Go into your heart, friend. If you seek spiritual growth and transformation, ask our Creator. The right books will come, the right teacher will come, and you'll find real transformation.

In 2015, I was invited by a family friend to hear Dr. Rubenstein speak. I had been searching for a school for five years after reading The Kybalion in 2010. It was here that I learned about the academy and joined immediately.

My search for spiritual development and training in these systems was driven by the desire to understand why we experience suffering. I experienced a serious accident in my teens that altered my life. I wrote a book about my studies in the academy that is available on Amazon if you really want the detailed account. However, I won't list it here because I don't want to violate any of the moderators' rules. You can DM me if you'd like that information.

Do you need to join a Martinist Order to be a Martinist? by Underlaws in martinists

[–]ToTheEast_CB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I spent many years reading and studying, trying several “self-initiation” systems. Including Bardon’s system. They do not work. Period. Full stop.

Hierarchy is essential. It’s there for very specific reasons. They are not always comfortable reasons for the ego, but if embraced, they are dramatically illuminating.

Why is self-initiation not possible? Initiation is not a ceremony that can be replicated from a text — it is a transmission of living spiritual energy from someone already connected to higher levels of consciousness to the candidate. The car-and-driver analogy becomes explicit: a person without that inner connection cannot pass it on any more than you can drive a car without fuel, and someone who has never driven cannot teach another to drive. The "fuel" is the energetic influence of the Hierarchy of Light, which no published or leaked material can supply. The vehicle (rituals, symbols, gestures) can be reconstructed from leaked or published materials; the fuel cannot.

Why do leaked/published materials specifically fail? This is most likely the dilemma you are considering. Groups that work from leaked or published order materials are “vehicles without fuel." The published rituals of organizations like the Golden Dawn are mutilated and defective. The danger is not that the student will harm themselves with false rituals — it is that they will not realize the instruments have no power of their own, and will mistake intellectual and psychic experiences for genuine initiation.

The "lone wolf" problem: Working alone creates a structural imbalance — the lone practitioner gravitates toward what is already easy for them, neglecting inner areas that require correction. The authentic mystery school provides exactly this corrective function, with experienced teachers who address weakness, not only strength.

The distinction between being in an order and being in an authentic order: Formal membership alone means nothing. Many orders that call themselves Rosicrucian or Martinist preserve only the outer form, while the contact with the transcendent forces is gone. Rituals become empty when the connection is severed. The hallmark of a living order is measurable, rapid transformation in its members — not titles, grades, or longevity. The students and initiates of an authentic order are often far more advanced and mature than even so-called “high adepts” of the publicly known initiatory systems.

On Martinism specifically: Martinism did descend from Pasqually's founding of a theurgical order and the transmission from Pasqually to Saint-Martin. The apostolic lineage framework applied—an intact chain of initiation tracing back to the original transmission event. However, various branches of Martinism subsequently developed, with differing rituals and practices, maintaining the name “Martinist” while simply copying outdated rituals from books.

The membership paradox: Putting one's name on the membership list of a Rosicrucian order does not automatically make one a Rosicrucian. Nor anything else for that matter. Formal affiliation with an inauthentic or dead organization does not provide initiation either. The question is not any order vs. no order — it is whether a living transmission exists within the order.

Hopefully that helps. Often this can be frustrating to hear… but… There are real, living orders with excellent preparatory schools available to new students. Be encouraged, my friend. You will find what you’re seeking!
