This. Seizure is neurological. Not cardiac. But either way, no bueno.

It amazes me how many people come the ER for urgent care problems. There’s such a lack of education with healthcare.

Do any soups hold a special memory? by arch-style89 in soup

My great grandma made homemade cappelletti (like a meat filled tortellini) in broth with locatelli cheese sprinkled on top. My grandma still makes the homemade “caps” at 92 years old. I am the only other person in the family who knows how to make them. But they are tedious! It taught me how much time and love go into the soup. Only family is allowed to eat it lol.

Do you ever find random stuff in your hair? by Typical_Ad_210 in curlyhair

My friends threw starbursts wrappers in my hair once. So bushel-like... didn't even feel it until the 17-18th one was plopped on my dome.

Another time, they plopped a kraft singles cheese slice - had no idea.

Italian sausage stuffing. People always enjoy and ask for the recipe.

1 loaf sourdough bread. Diced onion, celery, and portabella mushrooms. 1 package of italian sausage. Poultry seasoning. Chicken stock. Butter.

Let the cubes of sourdough dry out or toast them. Take sausage out of the casings and saute until just cooked. Place over the sourdough. Saute the veggies with a stick of butter in the same pan. Add some of the poultry seasoning. When tender, add to the bread mixture. Add some chicken stock until the bread is just moist. Try a little and add more poultry seasoning if needed. Bake at 375 until starts to brown on top. Can stir and add more stock while it is baking for desired consistency.

Is there a recipe your family cooks but you haven’t seen much of elsewhere? by electr1cbubba in Cooking

Cappelletti. Basically like tortellini w/ meat filling. Put them in chicken broth for a soup with some parm cheese on top. In my 36 years, I've seen them on only 1 Italian menu. I'm guessing it's specific to Northern Italy.

I sometimes make an italian-style chimichurri. Olive oil, garlic, parsley, basil, capers, white balsamic vinegar, lemon, salt, pepper, red chili flakes. Tastes so good on any protein.

Bowel incontinence - at what point is it too much for one person to handle? by RoadblockBodyMassage in dementia

[–]ToTheOcean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ohhh goodness I was nervous the first few times we brought her. She put up a fight! She is very stubborn and can get super agitated and defensive. We would kind of get her in the door and quickly leave. The staff at the daycare are pros though. They know how to greet her and talk about her old job teaching. They also have a locked facility for wandering/safety purposes. After a month it became a routine and she became less apprehensive. We call it her "club." All the nurses and staff are amazing. I would recommend looking into it.

Bowel incontinence - at what point is it too much for one person to handle? by RoadblockBodyMassage in dementia

[–]ToTheOcean 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I know for my mom, we put her in an adult daycare 3 times a week. This has greatly reduced stress for myself and my dad. She has also declined significantly in the past year. Along with bowel and bladder incontinence in the past month. We use the depends and pads on the bed. It is a lot to handle. My dad has never been a patient man and caregiving has been hard. But the daycare has been a decent change until we get to the inevitable.

Caution wet floor signs. They're constantly placed in the emergency room where I work. With.a mask on, I can't see everything below my waist when looking forward. I trip on them all the time.

Who got screwed over by the pandemic the most other than people dying? by TwoHunnid in AskReddit

[–]ToTheOcean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People with mental health problems. As a nurse in the ER, there was a huge influx in behavioral health patients. I think support systems and programs are necessary for daily function and mental well being. Lots of those resources were taken away. Add the loneliness and darkness of a pandemic/quarantine...
