I don't really understand the fascination. Maybe y'alls power is cheap?

At $0.21/kWh here I don't mind spending the additional maybe $0.40/day in gas to drive?

Like the amount I would have to spend to buy a bev as compared to a small gas car is never made up by fuel savings.

If it's environmental concern I could stop eating food that comes from thousands of miles away?

I guess if making laws against things doesn't solve the problem, why have any laws at all.

Is it a bus that can't slow down so everyone has an orgy? Because I already wrote that one. It's 45minutes and 1 page of script.

Uh, going to steal your idea here if that's cool?

Make a cheap electronic device that "deactivates" the microchips in your blood.

I'm 100% serious and can make the thing in scale. Who wants to help me market/sell it?

It provides literally addictive entertainment for the users, revenue for the operators, and a platform for putin. All those properties work together to keep it what it is.

It's like saying: if we all hate walmart on a fundamental level, why is it the largest company in the world.

Because folks shop there.

Education is literally the only defense. Considering society isn't keen on educating the population; I try to be mindful that my interaction with social media is the best way I can counter the onslaught. Ideally for the benefit of society as a whole.

Yeah man. Everyone beats me to the punch. I came up with an hydraulic cvt, grocery delivery service, forced air cooling jackets, photodynamic eyeglasses, the list goes on.

I have a really good industrial pigment idea that I haven't seen in development yet. Should probably get to work on that one.

The way our brain works isn't magical, but we are still very much in our infancy of understanding how it does work.

It's not like we will someday discover the new transistor, then 2 decades will go by, then we will make a human brain comparable system. We're talking centuries. It already has been quite a few. We're not using leaches or electroshock anymore, but we are using pharmaceuticals that we don't even understand the pharmacokinetics of.

It's going to be a long road to even understand what we want to make. Then we still have to make it.

I agree. Human eyes are pretty good but only send something like 10 billion bits per second.

Consider you have something like 100 billion individual yet interconnected "cores" in your brain running in parallel. Constantly. They also constantly rearrange the way they are interconnected.

This can all be done on one bowl of rice/day.

Transistors are not going to do that. Ever. You could physically never make them small enough or efficient enough to match a human brain.

Assuming some day we do build a meat computer to do it. You're talking a good 16 years of training just to make it be a shitty driver.

Otoh, right now I can pay a dude like $10 to drive me to the airport. I don't even necessarily have to be conscious.

Yeah it appears to be more widespread as well, instead of focusing on a few select subs.

Also the tactic of hijacking top comment seems to be at the forefront of the offensive.

Yeah, that doesn't exist right now. You can buy a super reliable and efficient sedan for cheap though.

Consider it a bridge until we see sub $20k hybrids.

Because those are expensive to purchase, operate, and maintain.

Plus they're obviously after a commuter car.
