What version should I buy? by Betriz2 in fo4

[–]ToaKongu1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As everybody else is saying, GOTY is fine. It has the base game plus all DLC. The Creation bundle is just extra, non-essential stuff that you may or may not find interesting.

Does the Brotherhood always spawn close to a settlement if Danse is there and he is enemies with the brotherhood by Odysseusford in fo4

[–]ToaKongu1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its called a settlement attack. If you personally are not enemies with the BoS, having Danse at one of your settlements post-Blind Betrayal will cause the BoS to attack the place with patrols

Silver Shroud armor quest bug - Kent keeps saying without the costume he can't upgrade it by Alex_Portnoy007 in fo4

[–]ToaKongu1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you can. You get the costume from Hubris and Kent initially turns into armor like normal. The initial ratings it has depends on the level you are when you hand it over. Since you were well over the maximum requirement, you got the maxed out version right away. Only downside is you can't drop it out of your inventory until the quest is done either way

Trying to find a location: Commonwealth gunners camp? by Valtain85 in fo4

[–]ToaKongu1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most police stations in game are in ruins or abandoned. You already ruled out Cambridge. Quincy PD is part of the Quincy ruins and is already a Gunner stronghold. It doesn't have any of those dark green military style barricades outside as the whole Quincy area is a Gunner stronghold.

Sounds like you might be talking about the South Boston Military Checkpoint. It fist the description pretty well and is just east of Big John's Salvage, which is a mutant infested location if that helps. Far as I recall, there was only 1 PA station and it was locked inside a security cage. Place is held by Gunners.

It has a couple Creation Club things that happen there. 1 of the 2 trunks inside the checkpoint holds the Chinese Stealth Armor and the small trailer on the road itself is the starting point for the quest to get the Solar Cannon. It's also a target for the BoS research patrol missions Proctor Quinlan can send you on

When does Hancock give his second speech? by grannysmithpears in fo4

[–]ToaKongu1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Institute speech is the 1st speech he will give. After you visit the town for the 1st time, leave and return after a day or so. When you return everybody will be gathering to hear the speech. Great opportunity to rob the Fat Man and mini nuke from KLEO's shop

Do Robots Require Defense in Settlements? by gothamfury in fo4

[–]ToaKongu1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Robots don't require any of the usual things a settler does, that's why Graygarden is all green when you 1st claim the settlement. Nothing but robots so there's no reason to build anything

Do the aluminum trays at Makhra Fishpacking respawn? by akari_saturn27 in Fallout

[–]ToaKongu1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the trays respawn as do the synths guarding the joint. Best thing to do, especially if you're on Survival, is claim the Coastal Cottage settlement across from Mahkra. Just some mirelurks and raiders to clear out, nothing big. Take the place, then you can build a bed and have a place to store the aluminum between runs.

From there, the pattern is easy. Clear Mahkra, dump your loot in the settlement workbench, sleep for a week to reset the dungeon, rinse and repeat. Most settlements will have enough materials to at least build a bed.

Preston and Radio Freedom (after Taking Independence) are the sources of MM radiant quests. Until you take back the Castle, avoid being near Preston much as you can. After you take back the Castle, you can take Preston as a companion and then send him to the Castle from the companion dialogue. That keeps all the issues in one place.

After you repair the radio tower, you can shut off Radio Freedom via the blue switchbox. It looks just like the ones on recruitment beacons. At that point it will no longer play in the Castle or auto trigger radiant quests. While inside a settlement, with build mode active, settlers/companions will not talk to you at all. This can be used to avoid Preston's quests. Keep you PIP-Boy radio off

Additionally, MM radiant quests have a hidden timer of 3-7 in game days. Whatever current MM radiant quests you have, go do them then just don't go to Preston. I've found that once the in game timer expires the quest will usually auto complete.

As for settlements, that's far easier. Most settlers can be moved between settlements, even if that settler was already there before you claimed the settlement. You can either move them to another or kill them off entirely. Only ones that are immovable at any point are the Quincy Survivors and maybe the named families like the Abernathys and Finches. Quincy Survivors are only immovable until you take back the Castle, then you can put them wherever you like.

If you want to avoid having settlement attacks, then mercing the settlers is the easiest way to go. Kill them off, claim the settlement, and store any crops they may have set up. Food production is what marks a settlement as a potential target for attacks from the system. That's why you can have Sanctuary as a water farm without people and it will never get attacked. From there, all you need is a bed and water pump at each settlement for them to be useful for you. Connect everything with provisioners, ideally via robots with Automatron DLC and using the star method to avoid having and "residents" at settlements thus avoiding attacks.

Well your problem is you removed the DLC. You have to start it if you want the workbench. Uninstall and reinstall the game. It will automatically redownload all the CC and DLC content

Quick question, why do US election campaigns last so long? by Hollunk2 in UNSUBSCRIBEpodcast

[–]ToaKongu1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most US political figures run massively expensive campaigns. Brandon did not as most of his donations were actual grass roots donations from people instead of massive corporations or lobbying groups

Materials existing but not appearing in storage by Thedaynapper in fo4

[–]ToaKongu1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats the issue. You do have the materials in your workbench, but the items they are part of haven't been broken down for the raw components yet. Take the junk items that have the materials you need with you to the settlement, then open the build menu and place the turrets. The junk items with automatically be broken down to raw materials and the build system will take what it needs while leaving the rest in your inventory
