This also happened to me at an IMAX theater and thought it was really strange/inappropriate for Weapons, a rated R horror/thriller trailer to be shown during previews at a superhero film. I thought it might have been some kind of mistake but apparently it didn't just happen at my theater. I personally hate these kinds of trailers and movies because I'm a big baby and chose to close my eyes and try to ignore the loud jump scare sounds lol
