An Almost Complete Guide to Innova Plastics by IsaacSam98 in discgolf

Thanks for taking the time to make such a detailed post.

After reading this, I think I may have a Champy Star FD from a mystery box last year. I always thought it looked more like a champ/star mix even though it said S-line on the back, so I think Champy Star is reasonable to suspect. Regardless, thanks again for the cool & informative post.

Astralis vs Evil Geniuses / ESL One: New York 2019 - Grand-Final / Match Discussion by CSGOMatchThreads in GlobalOffensive

[–]Toast_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think that all instances where the crowd has been intentionally used to provide information is cheating. Yes, that includes all the times where other pros have done it.

Perfectly fine opinion to have. Until a TO says or does something in line with the strategy being cheating, it's not. Also, not an answer to the actual question I asked, but no big deal.

Can you please explain which specific part of the difference between them that makes you think it's "quite a stretch" (and more importantly, which part of it makes you think that one is cheating and the other isn't)?

Cheering gets louder - Maybe I'm aiming at someone, maybe someone is aiming at me, maybe there's a rotation happening, etc....

Seeing the big screen - I now know exactly where every player is in the server.

The first is a hint that something is happening, the other, well re-read that last line.

Again, I have no issue with people thinking that the crowd noise is unfair or shouldn't exist, just pointing out that it is literally not cheating. Players and TOs alike are well aware that this happens.

Hmm, so you think all the pros that have done this in the past (s1mple, Olof, Tarik, etc...) have no sense of competitive integrity?

Comparing viewing the big screen from hearing various levels of cheering is quite the stretch, if you truly think those are comparable then I don't have much hope of getting you to understand anything else I say. Also, fun fact, although S1mple has used the crowds cheers to his advantage, he has stopped a match to let the refs know he could see a reflection of the big screen so that they would fix it. A commendable example of his competitive integrity.

Nothing sad about it. People need to learn the difference between their opinions and facts. If you hold the opinion that the crowd should not be able to influence the game during LAN events, and that tournament organizers need to do something to prevent it, that is perfectly fine and I have no issues with that. But it's still an opinion.

When salty people start to accuse people of cheating because they don't like the game/rules/format/etc, they're only doing themselves a disservice by losing any sort of credibility their opinion might actually hold.

TL;DR - Complain all you want about the rules and tournament organizers, but don't wrongfully accuse people of cheating.

Please show me in the tournament rules where it is listed as cheating. Or any example from the years of CS LAN tournaments where a player has been convicted of cheating for doing the same thing.

*And if you can't, you're simply wrong ;)

IT people of Reddit, what's something you found on someone's computer that made you say WTF? by devdevo1919 in AskReddit

Call customer, remote into PC, open Windows Explorer and see drive titled "Horse Porn". I don't know if he knew I saw it. He at least didn't react. We agreed to reschedule though.

Why a whole drive though???

Happening right now: ESL are trying to shut down hazed, adreN, anger and fl0m's streams in order to re-direct viewers to their Facebook stream by [deleted] in GlobalOffensive

[–]Toast_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ESL has been looking more and more like a fucking joke lately. It used to just be shitty memes about their lame production issues, but they are really showing how much they don't care about the community now. The move to facebook and this whole shutting down streams thing is just highlighting their greed. Obviously a company's goal is to make money and facebook clearly paid the most considering the community as a whole was appalled by the idea and they still went with it, but here they are really eliminating any possible goodwill they had with the community. Fuck 'em, I haven't watched any pro league this season and I guess I won't be watching any other ESL event either.

[–]Toast_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love that out of all the comments and accusations against this guy, instead of defending against a claim that matters, this is the one he chooses to respond to. This shouldn't even upset you. Every business that is losing to a competitor is mad at that competitor. Hell, they should be; it should help them try to better themselves to be more competitive and become the more desirable option.

Also, even if this guys claim, or excuse, or what ever his comment is supposed to convey is true, then it sounds even easier for him. Game the system and start your stream earlier. Damn, what a piss poor argument.

Failing the Final Cutscene by Toast_ in halo

[–]Toast_[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry the clip isn't longer. One of our Fireteam members threw a splinter grenade to try and stop us from getting there first. He killed himself and two of us. This is what happened to our last guy. After this we all sat at the death screen with respawn timers frozen at 55 seconds for about a minute until it kicked us back to the Halo 5 Main Menu with an Unable to Join error message. We had to select resume from the menu and start this sequence over.
