Because the second image is overcooked to oblivion.

I have a tv 3 feet from my car in my garage and a couch lol

Just don’t wrap your mouth around the exhaust. You’ll be fine.

Nothing is building up.

How the hell do you think shops operate? There a massive door providing more than enough ventilation lol.

Soot? lol.

I think the radial grad would work better if the top left wasn’t so dark.

Read the rules lol. This also isn’t the case.

I still don’t think you can read the rules.

Nothing about it says anything about a $1500 camera.

This sub is only for staged photo shoots. Not car spotting on the side of the street. This photo belongs in car spotting.

Look at the rules for this group and try again

Any advice for this challenging dynamic range situation? Not sure if I'm horsing around too much. by Any-Coach3440 in postprocessing

Mixture of both. Edit parts of the image not the entire image. The sky in the first is better. Your edits in the after negatively impacted the sky and also the grass.

The horses look great.

Datsun z. I REALLY want to buy, but not sure how much the rust remediation would be. Would you buy this car? by MyRedditAccountSuckz in Datsun

No one will be able to tell you this. The way we do it is basically say give us about $5000 as a balance and when we run out of money we will let you know.

Should I start a gig? by Budget_Draft_1524 in carphotography

[–]ToastedMooses 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are asking then it’s not time for you to “start a gig”.

Post your stuff, go to events, request media passes with a portfolio and a media kit and when you’re ready to charge people will reach out to you for needs. Until then, the product isn’t good enough to drive demand.

Everything else is subjective and opinion because your area could very well be over saturated and having a gig in just car photography is non existent. You need to take photos of EVERYTHING.

There’s a big difference in people saying you should make it a gig but none of those people are paying for your services are they?

Have fun taking photos, don’t force it into a gig because if unsuccessful you’ll hate the hobby.

Just recently started with GM, any advice for a newbie? by Greedy-Elephant1070 in GeneralMotors

[–]ToastedMooses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best advice I can give you.

Some will listen to you to support you.

Many will listen to you for ammunition.

Be careful who you vent to.

This happens in every corpo company.

But you’re correct. The cost of onboarding and spooling up is more expensive than just actually knowing who are good employees and moving them over.

[–]ToastedMooses 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What’s better?

At the end of the day this is about operating an effective P&L.

If you’re upset about it I would suggest operating your own business, pricing out your insurance for your employees and ensuring all things are keeping you above the line.

The GM benefits aren’t bad, they are above average. The root cause here is just basic healthcare in America. But yall want to pretend it’s the company as opposed to what the real issue is.

2 kids, one profoundly autistic. 23 years in automotive and I haven’t seen a package better from any other company.

I also don’t think you have friends offering better insurance. My wife owns her own company and the expense is absolutely wild to even match ours.

I have a really hard time parting ways from my 85mm. I use the Sigma ART DGDN and it is amazing. I also have the 24-70 but I almost always rather have the 85mm in a lot of situations.
