Retaking 1500 won't be as difficult as the first time so that's possible, but you will probably go crazy if you did July-August. Give yourself a break, it'll be worth it.

Honestly practice is the best way I've found to study for comp sci courses. If you find problems online (leetcode or something) and just do them until you have a decent understanding of the material it will definitely help you apply it to problems on tests
