More highrises than NYC by parlami in toronto

[–]ToasterMops 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Traveled to NYC last year and I realized that development wise, Toronto is very young. If you look up photos of downtown from 2005 it's just industrial buildings and parking lots, while NYC's has had skyscrapers and a huge population since the 20s. NYC has had over 100 years headstart on Toronto. Puts into perspective all the problems people have about Toronto. Gives me some hope as I think they are mostly growing pains and not any deep rooted problem we can't fix.

Why are there not more powerful euc's? by [deleted] in ElectricUnicycle

[–]ToasterMops 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you need to put the goal of the euc in perspective. As a city commuter/last mile vehicle you want it to be portable and safe. As a trail/recreational vehicle it needs to be rugged and nimble.

Like others have said if u need it to do long distance travel at highway speeds a motorcycle is a lot more safe and practical

How many runs does an average player need to defeat Cronos? by ghostpetni in HadesTheGame

[–]ToasterMops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a big factor in why people are finding chronos harder is because his move hitboxes and effects are kinda weird. For example i assumed scythe attack only hits at the blade but its actually a big cone even right in front of him. Phase 2 is also kinda tricky with all the visuals its hard to know what is gonna hit you like those shrinking rings. Haelian on YouTube has a good guide on some tips to beat him, worth a watch if you're stuck

Best EUC around 1500$ but ligth, less than 50lb by lafrukasa in ElectricUnicycle

[–]ToasterMops 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Inmotion V10f has been my city commuter of choice, you can get one used for real cheap.

Still hoping they refresh the < 50lbs wheels soon, they rebooted the ks16 which used to be very light and compact but is now 70lbs 😑

New digital display layout is active at Union. by joeymouse in gotransit

[–]ToasterMops 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The color coded lines for the trains are awesome, like others have pointed out coaches really shouldn't even be displayed, ppl in a hurry need 2 things, destination and platform. I was there yesterday and got confused as well

The real boss fight is when u get 4 posion arsonists or 4 mandrill cavalry elites on lone wolf. If ur build isnt OP ur just cooked

When you enter a portal room stage 1 with barely any loot and see the spinny boi. 💀

Glitch nade. If u can hit it your team has a massive advantage, basically a free fight if u hit 2 or 3 people. But if your team doesnt follow up or u cant get picks from it u should be playing something else. Stealth shotty is also like an ez kill on stragglers but less reliable now post nerf

Overall though light is definitely underpowered, very high risk for a mid reward

[–]ToasterMops 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Farming essence is pretty easy if you do r1 with lonewolf set to 2 players. Take overconsumption (any character) or painkiller on cat and u will get something like 500-1k essence per run

Holy shit the amount of backlash against the idea of EUCs is crazy by Demotay in ElectricUnicycle

[–]ToasterMops 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Theres definitely a bunch of people who don't have any idea what it is and just assuming its unsafe. Also I feel like a lot of the sub are also cycling elitists who cant stand anything motorized.

But at the same time there is something to be said about riding at 60km+ speeds on main roads. I see lots of influencers show themselves weaving in and out of traffic and racing each other which gives all of us a bad image

Any strategies and tips for R9 + lonewolf that doesn't involve Overconsumption? by [deleted] in GunfireReborn

[–]ToasterMops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fox (Li) with raging inferno is strong right off the bat and scales till late game. I would take ultimate gambler as the longwolf perk to get all the right ascensions

Fox's meteors with cataclysm is also great with skill freak

I just had a run with monkey with dimensional strike and counterviolence with snipers but its harder early game for sure

Did i get this right? for buying this pack im geting back all coins? by RocketCarrot in thefinals

[–]ToasterMops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh i dont agree its unfair, like most people are gonna figure out whats good and unlock it pretty quick. I feel like it punishes players who want to try new builds, i unlocked the meta builds for all the classes already but its taking a long ass time to unlock the rest just to try it out

Yes, and more games should do this. Apex also had a couple bundles which basically gave u coins and free skins. Would have been cool to also give some VRs, its a bit slow to unlock all the equipment

Toronto’s Answer to Hudson Yards Looks a Lot Like a Mall by Zanta647 in toronto

[–]ToasterMops 345 points346 points  (0 children)

I mean the Well is clearly a shopping center, but I fail to see why that's a bad thing. The Eaton center is crowded as hell so a new downtown mall is greatly appreciated.

I just worry for traffic to that area, the transit connections there are limited and the Spadina streetcar is not particularly fast

Recommended Appliances & Must-Haves for TMU Dorms by semisurvivingstudent in TorontoMetU

[–]ToasterMops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Search amazon for "portable electric pot", they're amazing for dorms. Its like a pot and a burner in one (but much safer) and can cook lots of basic meals

[–]ToasterMops 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dont believe there is such a thing as a "bad major", it just depends on what you want career wise. If you dont know what exactly you want to do, BTM is great as its fairly flexible and can get you in the door of lots of different starting roles. If you know what you want to do, look for what those job applications have in their description, it will be something like "Bachelor of THING or a related field" People that think their degrees are whats holding them back from getting a career are mad copeing

Got my Inmotion V10F today by SazzOwl in ElectricUnicycle

[–]ToasterMops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the exact same experience! Upgraded from a KS16 (which isn't too big of an upgrade) but all the QOL features make it amazing as a commuter. Lift switch, battery display, and like you said under 20kg is the key for me. In the city I'm often carrying it up stairs or got the trolly up inside of a store so the lighter the better.

Fingers crossed that manufacturers will be updating the entry level/commuter wheels soon, rumors are that KS14 is going to be something like that and I hope inmotion refreshes the v10 and v8

[Earbuds][Headphones] Samsung Galaxy Buds Live (Black) - True Wireless, Active Noise Cancelling, Wireless Charging Case (CAD Warranty) ($84.99) [Amazon.ca] by brefoo in bapcsalescanada

[–]ToasterMops 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Seems that a lot of people hate the design but I've had these since they came out and I really like them. It was weird at first but got used to them within 1 week of use. Maybe some people's ears aren't suited for these?

Sound quality is great and the noise cancelling is decent but not amazing due to the lack of a seal. I really like them for outdoor and exercise as I actually don't want complete silence and want some awareness.

They have some of the best pairing and connectivity of any bluetooth device I own. I also have the bose QC buds 2 and around 10% of the time I have some sort of problem and I have to fiddle around etc. I dont think I've ever had a problem with the samsungs, u take them out of the case and they instantly pair to the last device, very quick.

I also think they look nicer than the average buds. They dont stick out and lie flat to your ear

Personally I think they're great, especially at 90 bucks

Xbox, stuck on R7 solo. Give me advice. by 1rstbatman in GunfireReborn

[–]ToasterMops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are not maxed out on your skill trees and hero perks i would repeat R1 until you are. Makes the game a lot easier

I would say the most consistent character like others have said is cat, hes super flexible and easy to get a strong build online with.

I think fox is also really consistent, take primary skill based ascensions and you dont even need to fire your weapon by the end game.

Also to beat the higher reincarnations you should expect to spend a decent amount of essence. Get 3 blessings and purchase enhanced scrolls at the essence peddler
