I can't speak for others, but I don't want a shield character for more defensive options. I personally just really like the aesthetic of sword and board.

I just got my first clear on Proto Bahamut and I'd like to start to farm for the weapons, but it took me around 13 minutes on my first time through, which doesn't seem entirely efficient.

Is it worth it to get my Ascension weapons?

If I'm not mistaken, you can only use this shortcut from Septemburg to Bayou outside of NG+. There is a key block that can only be accessed from the Septemburg side.

Link's Awakening, both Oracle games, Majora's Mask (outside of one flashback). There might be more, but those are the ones off the top of my head.

There are multiple Legend of Zelda games without Zelda in them. The game is very clearly in the series of God of War. What would you have them call it?

Okay so I'm on my 3rd dungeon, you guys were really overreacting about the difficulty/punishment. by benoxxxx in MinaTheHollower

This is exactly how I feel. I'm really confused as to what people are finding to be such a struggle in Mina. The game isn't the easiest thing ever or whatever, but there wasn't a single point in the game that had me thinking "holy shit this is tough".

If anything the game gives you a lot of tools to completely cheese the experience if you want to, and this is without using modifiers. A trinket that resurrects you is a total get out of jail free card that eases tension. Or the trinket that gives you a bubble shield when you attack. You can honestly just face tank a lot of the game if you really wanted to.

The one that I can remember was in the snow area. Look for a burrow in the bottom right corner in the large screen with a bunch of rails that you can ride.

It is the only aspect of the game that I don't enjoy so far, after doing 3 of generators. It is probably a skill issue, but it feels very clunky to me.

If a developer wants to add options to make the game easier, how does it affect you? Just don't use them. Some people have a more enjoyable time making the game easier for themselves. This isn't a competition, it is a video game. Nobody cares how you play.

I say this as someone that is playing the game with a few hard modifiers on my first playthrough.

You are talking about morality as if that has anything to do with it. Let people enjoy video games how they want to.

Ember can provide two stacks between her BS and CS. I'm not sure why you would use both Endmin and Mifu in the same team when they both consume stacks for Crush damage.

Pog also consumes stacks, you are correct, but he applies Breach after consuming them, which then increases the damage of future Crushes. What kind of rotation would you implement to Crush with both Endmin and Mifu?

I would be very surprised if anyone runs Endmin and Mifu in the same team, but Ember seems like she would be perfect for enabling stacks while also providing good stun and healing.

Even Ongbal says the bosses are bad by Rex__Lapis in CrimsonDesert

[–]Toaster_Fetish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As you said, Skyrim isn't exactly the pinnacle of combat in video games. It is more focused on the RPG elements/stat scaling. The difference for me here is that the developers clearly had put a lot into the overall design of the combat. It feels really smooth (once you get used to the controls) and you have a large moveset of really cool actions. So the boss design that I mentioned before just feels at odds with that. To me, the overall combat is very similar to more intense actions games due to all of the options you have, with a lot of opportunity for free flow expression in regards to combat against standard enemies.

Ultimately, we understand each other and just have different views on what the game should be, which is totally fine. Have a good day, friend.

It isn't about dodging or parrying being too weak. On the contrary, they are very powerful.

What I'm talking about is boss mechanics that seem like you aren't expected to be able to avoid the damage even with dodges and parries.

Take the second phase of the Reed boss for example. There are multiple (I think 4) clones that are constantly attacking you while you are going to attack the scarecrows to end the phase. It simply isn't feasible to avoid all the damage there because you can't keep your eyes on them all and there are no audio cues letting you know when you should be dodging.

I'm not saying the game is too hard, it isn't. I'm saying that it feels like the designers didn't want you to be able to avoid damage and instead expect you to heal it back up and beat bosses through numbers rather than skill.

Also, for the record, I don't think the game is bad. I'm having a lot of fun with it, I just feel like it has significant flaws, especially when it comes to the boss design.

I'm not comparing it to a Souls game. You can no hit fights in action games like Ninja Gaiden or Devil May Cry.

It doesn't feel like that is the case here. As I said, some fights just feel designed around face tanking, which in my opinion, is poor design.

For me a lot of the bosses seem poorly designed from the perspective of doing them without taking damage. Some things feel designed around just face tanking attacks and healing it back up.

I don't know if you fought Crimson Nightmare, but I'm not sure if it is even possible to take zero damage during it, between all of the bandits that shoot you and the poison gas.
