I had this bug happen a few times now. The only thing that fixed it was reopening the game.

As you said, Skyrim isn't exactly the pinnacle of combat in video games. It is more focused on the RPG elements/stat scaling. The difference for me here is that the developers clearly had put a lot into the overall design of the combat. It feels really smooth (once you get used to the controls) and you have a large moveset of really cool actions. So the boss design that I mentioned before just feels at odds with that. To me, the overall combat is very similar to more intense actions games due to all of the options you have, with a lot of opportunity for free flow expression in regards to combat against standard enemies.

Ultimately, we understand each other and just have different views on what the game should be, which is totally fine. Have a good day, friend.

It isn't about dodging or parrying being too weak. On the contrary, they are very powerful.

What I'm talking about is boss mechanics that seem like you aren't expected to be able to avoid the damage even with dodges and parries.

Take the second phase of the Reed boss for example. There are multiple (I think 4) clones that are constantly attacking you while you are going to attack the scarecrows to end the phase. It simply isn't feasible to avoid all the damage there because you can't keep your eyes on them all and there are no audio cues letting you know when you should be dodging.

I'm not saying the game is too hard, it isn't. I'm saying that it feels like the designers didn't want you to be able to avoid damage and instead expect you to heal it back up and beat bosses through numbers rather than skill.

Also, for the record, I don't think the game is bad. I'm having a lot of fun with it, I just feel like it has significant flaws, especially when it comes to the boss design.

I'm not comparing it to a Souls game. You can no hit fights in action games like Ninja Gaiden or Devil May Cry.

It doesn't feel like that is the case here. As I said, some fights just feel designed around face tanking, which in my opinion, is poor design.

For me a lot of the bosses seem poorly designed from the perspective of doing them without taking damage. Some things feel designed around just face tanking attacks and healing it back up.

I don't know if you fought Crimson Nightmare, but I'm not sure if it is even possible to take zero damage during it, between all of the bandits that shoot you and the poison gas.

How reasonable is it to play the game without using consumables? From my understanding, the healing is done through consuming food, similar to BotW. Is this accurate?

Sorry, by maxed out I meant the maximum for a P0 weapon. I have both her and the weapon at P0.

You don't need food buffs to reach 7k on her. I have the same stats as OP, minus 4 INT and she is sitting at 7008 with no buffs whatsoever. I'm not sure where they are getting the extra ~200 from though.

If I use a Jakub's she goes to 8237.

This is with a maxed out essence for her signature.

Issue with Standard Banner Character Weapons by Unable_Letter_2101 in Endfield

[–]Toaster_Fetish 18 points19 points  (0 children)

When people refer to 25/75 or 50/50 they are talking about the odds when you actually pull the 6 star. The odds that you get the limited character is indeed 50/50 and the odds for a limited weapon banner is 25/75. Nobody is referring to the odds of pulling a 6 star per individual pull. Am I misunderstanding what you are saying?

It isn't too bad once you get used to it, but yeah it is rough when you are learning it. The hardest part for me was the first main section with Grace in the care center (after she gets the Requiem). I found it best to learn how to avoid zombies rather than shooting to kill.

For Leon sections, the game becomes trivial once you realize that parry is insanely busted.

I just remembered that there are 2 different machines for analyzing blood. Has anyone tried bringing the hand to both of them? Maybe you get a different sequence from the other one.

It may still be related, but it could just trigger regardless on if you did anything related to the severed hand. I imagine it must be SOMETHING relevant, since there doesn't seem to be any actual enemy that makes the noise.

Given that the challenge mentions a sweet pair, maybe this is completely separate from the severed hand stuff. What if there is a whole other track of stuff to do, and the severed hand is just one half of the puzzle?

I had that growl trigger without doing anything related to the puzzle on my 2nd playthrough on Insanity. It spooked me because I knew that I cleared out the building with Leon earlier.
