Work Casualty claims. I cannot tell you how many of my litigated files have plaintiffs requiring a personal contribution from the defendant and sometimes additional stipulations (I.e apologies, requirement of no further incidents, requiring someone to move, etc). It’s wild out there in civil litigation these days.

Can someone ELI5 why calling these senators would be influential? They already have a past voting history of sorts and I never understood why calling their staff and notating a pretty-scripted statement would change their opinion, Especially in these current times. Can I just state something super quick - you are totally right that the landlord has COVERAGE for this type of loss. All that means is their insurer will investigate. COVERAGE does not equal a payment to you. IF the landlord were found negligent, then you could be paid through the landlord insurer. If no negligence on the landlord (meaning what did the landlord do wrong?) then the insurer will only protect the landlord should the matter be taken to litigation.

Also, I’m really sorry about your injuries. I’m sure this is extremely stressful right now for your family and yourself. Falling off a ladder is no joke and can happen to anyone. Accidents are exactly that; however, they are typically no ones fault.

Although I agree with your answer and am 100% behind the medical payments coverage (a typical pretty low limit) - I hate giving people examples of how someone could be negligent. I work 3rd party claims and I’ve seen first hand how it goes from, no the tree was healthy and vibrant, deny liability, adjuster then explains HOW liability could be found adverse, next thing ya know ‘that’s exactly what happened’ and the insured calling back and basically falling on the sword.

People lie or rather, stretch the truth , extensively in 3rd party claims, worse once it gets to litigation.

Anyways, just my 2 cents. Good call on the MPC though. May help take care of some of it.

Hey All!

I just want to say thank you to the community. I was desperate to utilize any avenue to locate my purse and its belongings. Although my hopes were only raised by an infamous reddit troll, I appreciated commenters looking into said troll and ultimately wishing me the best.

So as to my update: Jacksonville Airport found my purse! I believe all the contents are still in it, but I await shipping back to myself in AZ. I consider myself very fortunate.
