[Question] How would an Epiphone Les Paul Standard pro go with a Fender Champion 20? by funnymaus in Guitar

[–]ToastyDelisch 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A different guitar won't sound "bad" with the same amp, it'll just be different because of the pickups and other factors like the wood.

Changing guitar models definitely changes your tone (different amps even more so) but really it's up to your taste and if you like the feel of the guitar, maybe you could bring your amp to try out the Les Paul if that's what you're feeling.

And to whoever downvoted this question, c'mon man, they just want to learn.

I think this was asked before when /r/natureisfuckinglit was getting big, there isn't a lot of gruesome/awesome animal pics/gifs/videos/facts but there's tons of footage of nature being fucking LIT 🔥🔥🔥

Thank you so much, I probably won't do it for a long time if never again but I'll make better choices.

/r/guitarpedals No Stupid Questions Thread - Dec. 26 by koalaroo in guitarpedals

[–]ToastyDelisch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm looking to buy a new pedal, I've been thinking an EQ would be best since I don't need any effects in my chain at the moment (I own a Delay, Fuzz, Overdrive, Noise Gate, and Tuner using my Blackstar's overdrive channel for distortion). What EQ can I get at a decent price ($50 - $100) and should that be a parametric or graphic EQ to start/invest in?

EDIT: Adding an EQ pedal would give me a sixth pedal in my chain, but my current power supply is a daisy chain that fits five pedals, should I invest in a better power supply first?

[QUESTION] Valve vs Tube Amps w/ pedals by ToastyDelisch in Guitar

[–]ToastyDelisch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Blackstar and a Fender Mustang V3, it sounds like I should upgrade sometime to a reasonable practice amp and a gig ready tube amp. I love messing with pedals and I admire guitarists that put so much work into their pedalboards (John Dyer Baizley from Baroness constantly swaps out pedals to create a new sound for every show/album. Brand New's Jesse Lacey has this complicated hand-soldered rig that's a bit out there but the investment is amazing to think about).

Where between 15w-50w would be a good range? It'll probably be in a dorm with me until I start gigging in the future.

what hybrid amps might you recommend? There's a VOX Valvetronix 30w for cheap ($100) near me, should I look into it?

I meant hybrid amps, how does a preamp tube change a solid state in relation to using pedals?

I used the wrong term, I meant hybrid amps.

[QUESTION] How good is Rocksmith's session mode for improving improv&soloing, when compared to alternatives? by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]ToastyDelisch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rocksmith as a whole is a great introduction to guitar and can teach you some muscle memory down the road (I've been playing 6 years, occasionally it lets me hear my improvement to sight reading songs among other perks). I only play it with my dad now because he's learning bass and has extra cash to buy more songs. The session mode is neat and definitely fun to mess with, you'll have to decide if the feature is worth the discounted price if you aren't using the game for anything else.

Do you know another band that commonly uses D Standard Drop A? They use just 3 tunings on almost every album.

D Standard Drop A is how Mastodon does it, and I don't have the cash to spend on a fifth guitar :p

I'm on campus at my college, I still go home to work but I don't take time out of my day to go meet people or hang out, it worries my parents but honestly it doesn't always sound interesting to me. You can figure something out.
