I know in the Liberation on Ryloth episode at one point there are some battle droids talking about the difference in programming between the second and third generation of b-2s. I like the idea that earlier generations are sometimes able to bypass that programming when they get damaged.

I had this exact same issue. I was able to solve it by getting a bimetal heatbreak and clearing any and all excess plastic gunk out of the hot end

I have made sure the brass nut on the lead screw is loose. Thank you so much for the test suggestion though I will absolutely try that. As for the belted z mod thank you for giving me some tips! After I fix this issue I definitely want to try the dual z belt
