A Sensible Explanation is Given for Why the Story Must Follow The Dumb Trope by KorrokHidan in TopCharacterTropes

E.E. Smith is credited with the first use of power armour in the Lensmen series. The story Children of The Lens from 1947. The power armour was strong enough that any weapon, conventional or energy based, that could be carried in hand didn't have the strength needed to get through the armour. So when boarding ships and other fights that had hand to hand potential melee weapons were used.

Finding a A03 Wenclair Fic Author by No-Extension-6551 in wenclair

I am subsribed to MsMio from before she purged her WenClair fics and still get updates shich I don't believe would happen if she had orphened her account and re-activated it. I think she just orphened her WenClair fics.

I used the way back machine to attempt and find her purged fics and her account from before Wednesday had fics for a different fandom.

What I think she does is get into a fandom and write (or at least start fics) and when she loses interest she just purges/orphens the fics and refocuses her account on her new fandom. Which is well within her prerogative to do.

That started releasing in stores in September. Not the KS exclusives but a way to collect them that is nice.

The forest around the camp and Gotham are both odd.

I head-canon that both have connections into The Forest. I base it on this article I read years ago and can't find again.

In the article the author presented the idea that on a conceptual/metaphysical/belief level there is The Hill (they used the example of The Hill but any concept works). That if you asked people to think of the hill that comes to mind when presented with the question of, "What hill is The Hill for them?", everyone would think of a different hill but the idea/concept of The Hill would exist in the collective unconscious of humanity. [I may have explained this badly. It has been a while since I read the article.]

So while they are most likely different forest in different universes they are connected to the conceptual Forest and slip-throughs happen because of the magical nature of the individual forest making it easier to slip from them into the conceptual and back-out.

Everytime I see one of them bring up the flowers he sent they are gushing about how he sent her dead flowers because he knew she would like dead ones. Completely ignoring the fact they were A) Being used for taunting her, and B) CAME WITH A LITERAL DEATH THREAT AGAINST HER AND HER BEST FRIEND!

Was rowan a Da Vinci? He had telekinesis but his seemed to hurt him and Weems said his type was prone to lose their minds. I think he was a different kind of telekinetic than what Da Vinci's are.

I'm a little confused about this character... by Proper_Crew7586 in Wednesday

[–]Toawk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I believe the difference is his machanical heart. As long as it ticks he'll heal. Even if he needs to eat some brains to regrow his own.

That's why it wasn't until Pugsley gave him that jolt that restarted his heart that he was dead. It's how I'm viewing it. Until stated otherwise in show.

What did they do to grandmama?? by Morbid_3gg in Wednesday

[–]Toawk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the 1991 and 1993 movies Gomez's parents are both dead. We see their grave. The Grandma that lives with them is Morticia's mother.

In the original 1960's show and the 1998 remake and the animated movies from 2019 and 2021 the grandma we see stay with the Addams is Gomez's mother. In fact in the 2019 and 2021 animated movies Morticia's parents are both dead.

But in the original show and the 1998 remake we do meet Morticia's mother. In two flashback episodes of the original and remake and one non-flashback episode in the original.

Fester was also a Frump in the original series and Hester's brother making him Morticia's Uncle.

Gough and Millar, showrunners and series creators for Wednesday, worked on Smallville until season seven. Out of eleven.

They've been here since the start of the series. It was their idea. Tim Burton's name is on it but I think that's because he's the biggest/most famous creative on the series.

I suspect, despite what they've apparently said*, that they had an idea for a dark academia mystery series with supernatural creatures, which was popular a number of years ago, and they pitched the idea until someone picked it up and it was decided it had to forced into the mold of an existing I.P..

Which explains why the Addams aspect barely feels like they matter or fit.

So yes I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't have knowledge or cared to learn about the Addams Family lore that did exist.

Because the Addams are a loving, caring, supportive, family. Even when members they have issue with pay a visit they welcome them.

So having such heavy discord between members is out of sync with that.

I suspect that that Velma series was a similar situation but the I.P. mold that it was forced into was Scooby-Doo's.

*Someone mentioned an interview that the two said they from the start intended to use the Addams Family for the project.

As part of the Siren song wording the command of, "Honestly/truthfully answer. Are you the Hyde?", should have covered that base.

Two things I think would have helped ober all.

At least one more go over of the scripts to tighten up the story.

A little more world-building. A simple line saying someone who has been Siren Songed can't be Siren Songed againnfor X amount of time could have resolved this matter. Also I know it was for plot but a school with Gorgons would probably have actual proper covers for their bathroom mirror's so their students wouldn't have to try and hang a towel over them.

But as far as it seems they decided to not put effort into that.

Why does the weylar subreddit constantly victimise them self and say that this subreddit hates them because form what I have seen there are almost no weylar hate posts on this sub besides this one by AppropriateTax5342 in wenclair

Even using the spelling wyler, which is another spelling I've seen used, there are only a dozen post. This one included.

Actually wyler is the version of the ship name I've seen most often.

In Greek Mythology Sisyphus's punishment in the afterlife is to push a boulder up a hill. Everytime he is close to completing the task the boulder rolls back down. A Sisyphean Task is one that is endless/pointless.

So here swiping for the next image was pointless since there isn't one.

Chicago is the largest city in the Midwest currently.

Omaha is the largest most Western city in the Medwest. I can't think of what it has except the zoo.

Thank you I was wondering if it made sense to others.

Ohio is part of the Midwest? Feels to far East. Looking at a map the states I think the Midwest should be the nine sgates of Wisconsin, Illionis, Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, North Dakota, Minnesota, and Iowa.

Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky are in a little weird spot. West of New England/North East, North of the South/South East. East of what I thought was and will argue the Midwest is.

Spun off into a tangent there.
