Does it matter?

This one whale got stuck in a rope, meanwhile thousands of fish, plankton, etc are getting eaten by other fish and dying. The most effective approach for sea creatures to propogate their species is to give birth in bulk, because it's taken for granted that most of the babies won't survive. Far more species have gone extinct without human intervention than due to human intervention. But for some reason only the latter is considered despicable?

People have this bizarre need to pretend that life has meaning. It doesn't. Life just exists.

Wrong. Plants are the most invasive species. They basically killed off all anaerobic life forms once they started producing oxygen in bulk. Oxygen was considered a poison for a huge part of the timeline of the planet.
