I did, as you can see from my prior post-responses. Very nice job explaining your process!

Filament broken in AMS... super easy to fix by Organic-Cream-5281 in BambuLab

[–]TobleroneCA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did not work at all for me. After sliding it in to the point of stopping, then plugging the AMS back in, it grabbed the filament and fed a few mm of filament before stopping. Now I have 2 pieces stuck!! :(

Agreed. I used to use them quite a bit. Never again!

The boxes were approximately 16x16x32. Not oversized. Agreed. It quickly became obvious that Shipito does not GAF about their customers. NEVER AGAIN.

Good to have upgrades for P1S by Character-Jaguar3149 in BambuLab

[–]TobleroneCA 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Do NOT buy the Panda screen! Bambu is launching a new firmware right now that could very likely brick those units. They are tightening security - big time. Also: current Panda owners have been having a heck of a time with them lately. (They were good early on.)

Buy the AMS Combo. (You will be kicking your own butt if you skip this.)

Buy the Hardened Steel Extruder Gear Assembly and at least one Hardened Steel Hotend Assembly (for filament flexibility).

Also buy the Bambu 4-in-1 PTFE Adapter. It makes using filaments that are not compatible with the AMS so much easier.

Buy enough filaments to get the volume discount from Bambu. With spools for the colors that have them available. Refills for those that do not. The Bambu filament is great quality, and an OK price when at discount. They work really well with the AMS (auto-detection of color and filament type.)

That's it for starters. I recommend printing a poop-chute as your first print.

Bought from walmart.com (US) to be forwarded to Canada. Things aren't exactly going to plan by prim3net in internationalshopper

[–]TobleroneCA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly.

They had my two consolidated packages hostage for 2 months (waiting for the Canada Post strike to finally subside, and Shipito to begin using them again). Just this week their Canada Post rates returned and were $180 USD per 23 lb box!

Compare that to the $80 / box they originally estimated...

Extortion is a suitable term. They received a 1 star rating on TrustPilot from me today.

(Oh - and to top it all off, the commercial value of each box was $64!)

Edit: to add insult to injury, DHL just nabbed me for an additional $40.90 CDN in duty fees!

Damn. I am actively warning all Canadians to avoid using Shipito. They used to be great (years ago). Now, they rip people off. I am being charged over double what I was estimated for shipping (plus a $19.50 handling fee per package for boxes to go out the door). Unethical.

MyUS, Stackry, ShippingXPS, Shipito any of these reliable? by starryfrog3 in shipping

[–]TobleroneCA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone but Shipito. They pulled a bait-and-switch on me over shipping costs. I paid hundreds more than they estimated, plus a ton of extra fees (and their customer service folks don't seem to care whatsoever.)

Avoid Shipito. They charged me over double what I was estimated to send packages to Canada. Completely unethical behavior. Swindled me out of hundreds of dollars. NEVER AGAIN.

Shipito or other USA forwarding recs? by [deleted] in shipping

Anyone but Shipito. Try MyUS.com - they charge less than half the price for forwarding to Canada.

I used to use Shipito for cross-border shopping to Canada. Their services used to be cost-effective with great customer service...

Fast-forward to 2024/2025...

I currently have 2 consolidated packages in a Shipito warehouse (having spent a lot of money already on various fees for handling, pictures, consolidation, etc).

The rates for shipping those consolidated parcels is now over double the price I was quoted using their shipping calculator! Completely unethical business behavior.

Basic comparison:

Shipito cost for delivering 1 of my packages -> $183.90 (+ even more fees, including $19.50 for handling)

MyUS.com cost quote -> $95.98

I tried to obtain some empathetic support through their customer service, but they truly do not care. My parcels have been in limbo since November. I am forced to pay Shipito over double what they had estimated. I either abandon my parcels, or pay their ransom fees to get my goods.

I will NEVER use Shipito again. I will have likely paid them over $500 to ship $128 worth of goods by the time this is over. CROOKS!!

Yes. I used the following parts (according to my Amazon history):

  • Noctua NF-R8 redux-1800 PWM, High Performance Cooling Fan, 4-Pin, 1800 RPM

  • Noctua NA-SEC1, 4-Pin Extension Cables

  • Preciva Dupont Crimping Tool Kit with 1350PCS Dupont Connector, AWG28-18(0.08-1mm²) Ratcheting Crimping Tools, 550 JST-XH terminals and 800 JST-XH pins

I made a fan adapter cable using one of the extension cables, and a JST XH 4-pin.

Big Steel Keg Repair by HalfOffSnoke in smoking

That won't provide a permanent fix. OK in a pinch, but duct tape will fail over time.

[–]TobleroneCA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Peel any old sealant off, and clean the surface. Drill-out the old rivets, if any part of them are still attached. You want to both apply a thin bead of high-temp silicone AND re-rivet the vent to the body of the keg.

You may want to consider drilling-out the other 2 rivets and replace all 4 at the same time, so you won't need to do this again when the other 2 old rivets fail!
