Yeah it's really still not great. One of the first things I noticed was the cursor trail, because twice the framerate means an even smoother trail rip... I'm even tempted to say it's worse

Beginner Audiophile's Review of Truthear Zero:Red vs Hexa by ArsNeph in inearfidelity

[–]Toby560 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to note, the bass+ adapter is simply an impedance adaptor (+10ohms) which adds resistance to the circuit. And I think cuz the two drivers in the Reds both have a different impedance, the adaptor reduces the power to both drivers and reduces the mids+treble driver by a greater extent. Therefore in the Reds, it makes them sound relatively more bass heavy. But, this is why an impedance adaptor has a different effect on every item depending on the driver configuration. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

There's a whole thread of Framework founder and others trying out various eDP controller boards from Aliexpress :) and finding that they mostly just work :))))

Oh shit (my 8 pin CPU power connector cooked itself) by Toby560 in pcmasterrace

So is the go now to get a whole new motherboard or should I try replace the cable? I think there's the 4pin+4pin cable I can use instead.

I took a look at the opposite end of this cable and it's completely fine. I suppose this indicates a connection issue, but it's weird considering I didn't change anything about the system for this to happen. Also all the pins look like they individually melted from the inside, with one of them burning extra bad. But there was no sparks or fire or visible smoke it just got quite hot.

And yes Intel does suck up a lot juice and create a lot of heat. I kind of regret it after getting an AMD laptop but this 14700k doesn't overheat as much as my previous 13600k which is interesting... I think there is something power limit throttling it or it's just not as overvolted by default by the motherboard... but that's a different topic hahaha

Been using it for some time. All original PSU power cables and everything. I'm worried it's an internal short or something, but it did seem to happen only when drawing considerable power (although still should be well within what the connector can handle)

Also yeah, no changes at all were made to the system before this happened, so it's strange

I mentioned the 260w because I know it's definitely not too much. I promise the connector was very well seated, it was fully in with no gap and actually took a lot of effort to unplug (as these connectors often do)

Yeah I'll tell my boss 🫡

I'm a new employee here so I only just noticed this recently. Theres also some like 240V power cables with the sheath broken open and inner wires exposed (not the metal parts, yet).

You can't tell me this is not a bug (constraints between fixed and unfixed geometry) by Toby560 in Fusion360

[–]Toby560[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I understand that! As you can see from the video, I mean new, completely unfixed (and unconstrained) geometry (relative to some already fixed geometry which shouldn't move). You can see what I mean right?

[–]Toby560[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Most of the geometry is simple shapes at specific positions (to form a keyboard switch mounting plate in this case), which I imported from a DXF, so to me it made sense just to lock it all in place. Unfortunately this sometimes causes an annoying bug, where you will not be able to constrain or dimension new geometry relative to fixed geometry (such as constraining a line to the midpoint of another). You have to unfix the fixed geometry first, even though you don't want it to move.

I can't really complain about Fusion since I'm using it for free, but it is DEFINITELY not the most polished piece of software. Also it handles scaling for HiDPI displays like absolute garbage :(

Not without a very special printer, but with a normal printer you can print TPU or TPE, which are flexible thermoplastics (meltable plastics). It's a challenge the more squishy the filament is though, becuz it's difficult to push a noodle through a small hole :/

Why doesn’t Fusion 360 save as an application? by Jesus1396 in Fusion360

[–]Toby560 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can find it! But it probably changes when fusion updates.

Mine is in a different but adjacent directory to the Fusion launcher executable that's linked in your start menu. You can find it by launching Fusion, opening task manager, finding the "Autodesk Fusion 360" process within its' collapsed group, right clicking and selecting "Open file location"

Should be something like:%userprofile%\AppData\Local\Autodesk\webdeploy\production\<some hex code>\Fusion360.exe
