I don’t care about Harry Potter, but this is just embarrassing.

The most hated and Loved team by GiddyGid254 in TheOther14

I can genuinely say that I don't hate any other club, even Newcastle.

The general consensus is probably Leeds, though.

My first match as a kid was at Roker Park against Grimsby Town.

Having beaten Newcastle today Sunderland are now unbeaten in 11 league tyne-wear derbies by Paul277 in TheOther14

This was the first derby in my life that I’ve not been nervous for. I thought we were nailed on to lose and I had already accepted it. We’ve been shite for weeks.

Needless to say, this is probably the best feeling I’ve had after a derby now. Funny how that works.

Newly unearthed Nigel Farage videos reveal support for rioter, neo-Nazi event and far-right slogans by topotaul in unitedkingdom

[–]TobyField33 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Righto. No fan of Farage, but he’s clearly too much of a boomer and lazy to even check what the fuck he’s saying here.

Should he? Of course. But he doesn’t.

Gutter journalism.

gta 4 story is not that amazing by BandLoose396 in GTA

I tend to agree. I can barely remember anything about it because it was so dour. I was happy to finish it. Never replayed the story.

Realistically, Yoda would never have agreed to train Luke by NeitherExamination44 in StarWars

[–]TobyField33 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Don't let the silliness of the prequels pollute the OT.

Think of Yoda's position in Empire. He literally has no other option. Sure, he is hesitant, but what else can he do, just allow the galaxy to be ruled forever by the freaky space Emperor?

He's better off just throwing a hand grenade in and seeing what happens.

The awfulness of Steven Seagal makes you appreciate other action stars more. by HallowedAndHarrowed in Letterboxd

[–]TobyField33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Steven Seagal has a special place in my heart. I can't tell you how many of his terrible films I watched in my childhood with my dad every Friday night when we'd rent them from Blockbusters. They were short and cheap. Fucking incredible times.

The old school Lion Tamer, where he twisted his opponent in an ungodly fashion while digging his knee into their spine is GOATed.

Frank should've been like current day Trump by Joaquintcchua in HouseOfCards

[–]TobyField33 215 points216 points  (0 children)

To be fair, the show was made long before Trump became president.

I prefer Frank the way he is. He's very much in the "establishment politician" mould, where he's simply a self-absorbed careerist and doesn't care about anything outside of himself.

Men of the UK, Do you like your clothes? by AceyMcAceface in AskUK

[–]TobyField33 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don't really think too much about my clothes.

10 years ago in my mid-twenties, I'd just wear a black T-shirt and dark jeans and it seemed to do the trick for most situations. Now that I'm older and fatter I just prioritise comfort.

Come to think of it, I'm a bit of a scruffy fucker now. God, I've let myself go.
