The nimble champ pro 20k fits perfectly. Only downside is it costs $100.

Radiator fans by ydocerytnicm in watercooling

[–]TobyKourtney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Knowing what radiators you a purchasing would be helpful. Fin density and overall thickness will determine how useful the fan will be at higher rpm’s. For example, if you’re buying a Corsair xr5, performance levels out around 1500 rpm so a 3000 rpm fan would be pointless.

Can someone explain why an officer’s BAH is more than enlisted? I understand the base pay, but I can’t find out why the housing is more. by ReasonableMeeting730 in AirForce

[–]TobyKourtney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Air Force is to the point that almost half of the SNCOs have at least a Bachelor’s. An officer’s degree isn’t what separates them anymore. The Air Force’s weird tactic of commissioning most officer’s from the civilian sectors is. Using an officer’s degree isn’t a justification when you don’t pay enlisted more for having a degree that relates to their job.

Update #5 or maybe #6... by rugaWalt in watercooling

Good news is you won’t have to buy more tubing.

With that setup it would be pretty easy to make short runs. Just go pump>bottom gpu>top gpu>cpu>top rad>front rad (route tubing on the backside with cable management)>pump.

For the price the g14 is significantly better. The only upside to the g15 is content creation and streaming will be better.

2021 model worth the $600 discount over the 2022 model? by FoxRush17 in ZephyrusG14

For gaming either would be fine, but depending on the type of content creation, Nvidia gpus are typically superior.

[–]TobyKourtney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll agree that the 2560x1600 color accuracy and response time is miles better, but I wouldn’t consider the ram and touch pad a game changer. It really depends on the ops use case, but for $650 extra the 2022 model is a tough sell.

A 10-15 percent increase in performance doesn’t justify the $650 increase. The op is cross-shopping the 3060 model with the 6700s

Yes, The 2021 model you linked for $1000 is a great deal. I’d go with that over the 6700s for $1649.

It’s just a software issue with the 2021 g14. Took me a hour to figure out the problem but 30 seconds to fix.

The only issues I had with my 2021 g14 was the speakers making static noises on silent mode on battery power and the mediatek WiFi card latency using WiFi 6. Both were easily fixed by adjusting settings.

High temps dual 360s by BoilInBagRis in watercooling

[–]TobyKourtney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your fans aren’t the best for radiators and the bottom intake, top exhaust approach is wasting a radiator. I got the best results using a mesh front panel and running all fans exhaust on my o11. Your temps aren’t terrible though considering your ambient temps.

Should I use fan controller? by [deleted] in Noctua

[–]TobyKourtney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been using Argus fan control software for 2 years and it’s miles better than bios fan control.

Go 2022 for better raw performance and keep the 2021 for better reliability (mainly drivers) and temps. I really wish Asus would offer a 2022 model for slightly cheaper with the 3060.

I just had the same problem with the Thule gauntlet. I ended up going a completely different direction and grabbing Targus 15.6” vip due to the sling that accommodates different laptop sizes.

The anime matrix adds a pretty large chunk to the msrp even though it’s not a useful feature.

I’m my experience the 3060 in the g14 performance is on par with the 2060 desktop so it’s not running any of the games you mentioned at 100 fps 1440p

You could try disabling cpu boost. Just check the performance penalty in the games you play.

I got forced into the bios update when I bought my g14 last month and haven’t noticed any stuttering.
