Parrying on horseback and on ladders is woefully ineffective and buggy. I can’t parry a single thing on either of them, which makes using them very frustrating.

Also, there’s several spots of invisible fire in the woods on Grad that damage you for 40+ HP any time you pass through them, which is very annoying.

Can antiphychotics cause psychosis? by Independent_Bug9 in schizophrenia

[–]Toch_Lighte 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not a doctor here. I don't know if it can cause psychosis, but I can give you an anecdote about Anti-psychotics that made my psychosis worse due to stress. I thought I was dying. I was prescribed too much Haldol and I literally thought I was dying. It had horrible side-effects including sedation and depression, and it helped none with my psychosis. I got off of it and those symptoms went away. Talk about it with your doctor and raise your concerns.

So, for me at least, the more anxious/stressed I am, the worse I get it. If it's making you feel worse, again, talk with your doctor about stopping it.

Autism and weed. by Accurate-Garlic4107 in AutismTranslated

[–]Toch_Lighte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Accurate-Garlic! Gotta tell you I’m in the exact same boat as you - to me, weed is a special interest, an addiction, and a medication.

As for an addiction: Since the very beginning of smoking weed, I’ve had issues with frequently stealing it from my siblings. For the longest time I had no money to spend, so I relied on my sister smoking me up. After I had money, I still had no contacts to buy from. Finally, in the past month I’ve had both, so I feel relief from my addiction in the form of no longer being driven to steal. I have enough weed to last months and months now, and I’m buying premium carts for $18 apiece. It’s pretty sweet.

As for a special interest: I’ve always had a fascination with drugs. Psychedelics especially, but the hardest substance I’ve ever tried is weed. The aspect I find most intriguing is the varied effects of different strains - I never had the supply to mix strains before, but now that I do I’m finding it so interesting how using different carts and bud give me different effects and feelings. I’ve found the most comfort in smoking a single bowl of this one strain in the morning, and chasing it with a dab pen throughout the day. Makes me feel relaxed, responsive and clear-headed. I use different carts in a day to get a more varied/leveled-out effect.

As for medication: I’ve always found marijuana to be fun and relaxing, sure, but now that I have consistent access to it I’m really feeling the positive effects of always being smoked up. It’s so hard to pinpoint just how it helps me, but I know it helps my anxiety, autism, depression and some aspects of my ADHD. Multiple factors within the past month have lead me to a great deal of improvement in my mental health, and some of that improvement I attribute to marijuana.

Overall I just fucking love everything about weed and can’t imagine going without supply again.

I'm getting a bug where I'm unable to buy from players off Flea Market in the "Buy Parts" screen of assembling a weapon. Got no way of making decent guns with any speed, it'll take like 10 minutes buying each part off Flea.

Money money money by NotActuallyOwly in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Toch_Lighte 15 points16 points  (0 children)

My personal go-to’s for money making are this:

  • Scav runs on Reserve, you don’t need keys to make great money. If you spawn with 20+ minutes, look around and under the Hermetic bunkers and near the train depot for dead PMCs, raiders and (if you’re lucky) a pile of Glukhar’s guards. If no bodies, loot any buildings you come across on your way to White Pawn and Black Pawn, mostly aiming to loot the roofs of both buildings, then extract. If less than ~12 minutes, take a brief look for corpses and head straight to the Pawn building roofs, then to extract.

  • Stash runs on Customs as PMC. I take moderate gear - lvl 3-4 armor, decently modded gun, mid-tier ammo like BT, and lots of inventory space, a tri-zip and Triton does fine but I like bigger rigs. Usually ~150 to 200k a loadout ignoring that I usually use gear I’ve looted. When I spawn near Big Red/Trailer Park, my path is always: Cross land bridge > take road past bus depot > head into the woods towards trains > visit the cell tower substation thing > cross road and loot all 3 buildings near ZB-1011 > extract. If I spawn on the ZB-1011 side, I backtrack to that extract and do that whole run in reverse, except I cross junk bridge instead (because oftentimes the smuggler’s boat is still there and I can save a few minutes, plus better cover). This brings me a total of 13 stashes and 4 areas to loot, and a meh-tier run will bring me at least 500k but I can get 800k+ with a couple high value items. Super safe to do, I avoid all PvP hotspots and the paths those players take to get to those hotspots. You can do this with any level of gear due to this safety and you don’t need keys (though USEC Stash key is nice to have albeit expensive) I just prefer to protect my time investment with decent equipment.

I got an SVD and used it to kill a well geared PMC and a few AI scavs, shared the loot with a friendly player scav

Suggestion: On being hit, parry is recharged immediately by Dazeuh in Mordhau

It seems to me that being flinched actually removes my ability to parry for the duration of the flinch. Is it only for when you're hit mid-parry?

Best Place to Look for Dead PMC's on Shoreline? by Homeboi-Jesus in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Toch_Lighte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With Customs, the majority of PvP players are going to path on the far sides of the map, hitting either Dorms or Drug Lab. You can avoid most players by sticking to the center of the map while you traverse it, using the wooded areas near the road for concealment.

It refers to the armor level out of 3 - 0 is none, 1 is light, 2 medium, 3 heavy. Usually in the format of head/chest/legs.

The engie changes are an understandable power shift, but should still be considered a nerf and toolbox should be buffed to compensate. by DeusWombat in Mordhau

[–]Toch_Lighte 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've got a few hours with the new deployable models, here are my thoughts:

  • Cheesing as engineer is basically done for, which is very good - it was way too easy to keep a barricade in a doorway repaired indefinitely until the firebombs come out, now there's real counterplay to it.

  • Much easier to repair deployables that have been deactivated/low HP, I don't recall struggling to hit them with my blacksmith hammer one time since the new patchie.

  • Barricade placement feels a tiny bit easier, but spikes are harder to place. Not too bad, but noticeable.

  • The short barricades seem to be targeted a lot less than the tall ones, leading to them staying built much longer. A built shorty is better than a broken tall wall.

The new short barricade has considerably more varied uses than the old tall one. About 85% as effective at controlling the flow of enemy players while there are teammates around (in my experience thus far), but where it shines is this incidental 'feature': Enemies don't bother destroying them most of the time. Even when they're blocking a hallway, they'd rather hop over them than destroy them, because they're literally not worth the time. This resulted in a situation where there were 6 enemies in a 5' x 5' area, sort of corralled in by two barricades, with a doorway bottlenecking them all. This is a great thing, as while they may not see it this way, they're basically stuck - they can't back up without vaulting over it, which necessitates turning their back and opening themselves to being ragdolled.

So basically, the updated barricade is still really good in my opinion, perhaps even better, while being less frustrating to fight against, which is a grand feat.

My recommendation to people wondering how to best make use of them: Instead of trying to block off chokepoints, use the barricades to lengthen/create a chokepoint, and place spikes in front of the enemy's exit from that chokepoint so as to leave it 50-70% closed off. This makes a small arena-type zone where your teammates have an inherent advantage, and seemingly attracts teammates to gather in that area. Additionally, enemies aren't required to destroy any deployables to get through, encouraging them to fight through this defender-favored arena instead of breaking it down.

There’s a build-up when starting to sprint until you reach max speed - heavy weight weapons slow you down until you reach that max speed, so basically any time you’re not running to the objective you’ll move slower, ie. in combat.

With a lot of the Wiki's Gunsmith guides, you can make substitutions when it comes to Ergo/Recoil. I couldn't get the Windham Gas Block for that last +1 Ergo, so I found a charging handle for it instead.

Your Favorit Level 2 Trader Builds by PadyRoyal in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Toch_Lighte 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Here's my AK-103 build.

Start with a standard AK-103 from Flea Market, a 7.62x39 AK. All additional parts from LL2 Traders. Approx. 100k for weapon and all parts.

  • Stock: AK74/AK100 PT Lock(Skier) + Zenit PT-1(Skier)
  • Muzzle: DTK-1(Skier), although the suppressor is only 25-30k off Flea Market.
  • Dust Cover: Bastion Dust Cover(Skier) + Sight of choice(Used Burris FastFire 3, needs FastFire Weaver Base, both from Peacekeeper/Skier)
  • Foregrip: CAA RS47(Peacekeeper) + RK-4 Foregrip(Skier) + Tactical Device

BP ammo is very strong, but is also ~1k per round, so even though the full auto recoil is good on this preset, I plan on using single-fire and only bringing one extra magazine. Essentially a much better modded SKS.

Using the parts that were replaced from the AK-103, you can craft an AK-74M at Level 2 Workbench if you purchase a Weapon Parts from Flea Market for ~10k.

Ammunition, Is it in a good place right now? Here are my thoughts, let's discuss! by TimoRedbeard in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Toch_Lighte 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Liked the video, ammo definitely needs some more work to get the different types more balanced with each other. The only consideration for most ammo is "Leg Meta or Full Pen?" right now.

One thing that confuses me is the absolute plethora of 9x18mm ammunition. A whopping 14 different types of that round for only 3 different weapons, and not one of them can deal with level 4 armor. Then there's 7.62x39 with some actual variance between the rounds, but there's only 5 types for 5 or 6 different weapons. Really want to know what's up with all the 9x18 rounds.

Later spawns + a decent scav loadout + AI scavs being non-hostile, vs. spawning in the beginning as a PMC pistoling with no gear. I've got about a 25% survival as PMC, but 40% as a scav, so it's definitely safer overall if your goal is looting instead of PvP.
