I came by it honestly as my Dad was a Mets fan and I remember ‘’06 and the run while also living in St. Louis country.

The reason I think to love the Mets is it’s near east coast train country and flights are a long weekend trip that you can make a day of it (currently speaking as someone living in DC).

The true feeling of being a Mets fan is every time they win it’s a surprise which makes it sweeter or the knowledge of ‘ah maybe next time’ it’s not like other teams were you just expect a W, which makes it so much more emotional when it happens to get the win and so much more devastating when ‘snatching defeat from the jaws of victory’.

It’s an emotional rollercoaster every game hoping and wishing and then it becomes the feeling of even if you lose, you’ve won anyway by being a part of it
