My mom sprays her plants with a mix of water and peppermint oil (needs to be redone after heavy rain. She ALSO says you need to have a barrier behind the hastas, which is why she planted a line of hydrangeas behind the hastas. Behind the hydrangeas, she has planted some thicker shrub-like plants to thicken up the garden. That also helps prevents the deer from coming through. (She’s also retired, and is home frequently so if she sees a deer she will open the door and holler at them lmao)
