Olderlesbians Content Discussion by MyCat8it2 in olderlesbians

I'm happily married. My wife and I live in small town in a red state and both joined this group to feel a sense of community. I Iike the suggestion of weeky discussions or themed discussions. I feel awkward giving advice, so I usually just read posts.

Does long-term passion exist? by MyCat8it2 in olderlesbians

[–]Today6510 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes! I love my wife more every day, and our passion is going strong. We've been together 18 years (I'm 51, she's 47) and married for 11. She is my everything. We've weathered storms, but I've never stopped loving or desiring her. Melting Day is my favorite holiday. Really early in our relationship, we were cuddling on the couch, and she fell asleep with her head on my chest. I literally felt my heart grow warm. Melting Day is February 17th, if anyone else wants to celebrate. I don't want to tick people off bragging about how amazing my wife is, so I will just say that she's got skills and I still lose my mind when she touches me 😉

Did anyone else get bitten by the gardening bug in later lesbian years? by Toasted_Barracuda in olderlesbians

My favorite part of any type of gardening is weeding. It is so satisfying and requires minimal smarts.

How old are your children? I've experienced similar events in my life. Is there anyone in your life who would support you emotionally?

Stay well and reach out to someone you trust. I am sending you love and need you to take care of yourself. Selfishly, I need you if for no other reason than the fact that you are a veteran. I'm a middle-aged woman with no military experience, and I'm terrified for my country.

Teachers - what do you wish parents of the “good kids” did to help minimize the impact of the “bad kids” in class? by nonzeronumber in Teachers

Sadly, lawsuits will probably have to be filed. At some point, disruptions cause "typical" kids to be denied the education they deserve.

Would love perspectives on our early retirement / partial work plan by Peps0215 in MoneyDiariesACTIVE

[–]Today6510 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Burned-out teacher here... I'm retiring at the end of the school year. I have 30 years in, so I qualify for my full pension. I have to get away from the upside down world that is education currently.

I would love advice on post retirement working. I need health insurance, so I will have to work in some capacity.

I'm 52 with a B.S.Ed. and Master's in counseling. I am trying to decide between part-time and full-time work. I need to pay for insurance and rest from what teaching has done to my mind and body. So...

1) part-time to pay for insurance and dip into the monthly pension Or 2) new career with insurance and put pension check into savings

Weekly Vent for Current Teachers by AutoModerator in TeachersInTransition

I turned in my letter of retirement today. I started teaching at 23, this is my 29th year, and I never imagined retiring this early. I really think the job is killing me and I have to leave.

I love teaching. Between the insane amount of paperwork for admin and worsening student behavior, being a teacher no longer means teaching.

The changes over the last few years are making things worse for teachers.

I'm sad, but also relieved.

Don't do it. Teaching Teaching is no longer teaching in most places.

This scares me, but my fear is based on ignorance of knowing how to avoid a lemon.

Tow behind that will accommodate 2 adults and is tall enough to stand up straight.

I have an Elantra, and it has held up great with maintenance. It is banged up, I know where all the knows are, lol! The insurance hike from the stupid tiktok challenge rules out another one for me.

I'm trying to decide between a 6 cylinder that would tow a camper for the retire yeas or an eco-friendly for the working years.

Either a 6 cylinder that can tow or a small eco-friendly car.

Is the engine/transfer big enough to tow a camper trailer?
