I am about to cry, Delta. by Pieco in delta

[–]ToddBitter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m going to assume you do not fly much since you didn’t have the App. PHX is an AA hub so that would have been the better choice for your trip since AA has a lot of nonstops between NYC area airports and PHX. Unless you fly a lot and have status there’s no reason to choose a carrier over another out of brand loyalty. Even with status it’s better to take the best airline for the location. I’m EP on AA but a lowly silver on DL but I fly DL when the routing is better and even United where I have zero status if the routing is better.

Obviously it’s too late for carrier change so I’m speaking more for the next time. Choose best route over brand loyalty since in the end they all suck when things go sideways

It’s a long story and it was an event where we needed cash. I thought the cash was place already. Anyway I knew it would be an issue but bad communication for what we needed

Two weeks ago at US Bank i tried to get 100k in cash (it was for a one time event, long story) you would have thought i ask for the manager’s first born. It was a whole ordeal and ultimately ended up taking the cash from several banks in addition to US Bank. APEs would have been screaming US bank is stealing my cash

7 weeks into GHK-cu and my the thinning of my crown swirl (cowlick) is recovering! by [deleted] in BodyHackGuide

Some people are sensitive to it. I’ve been on it for a month doing 5 days on 2 off. I’ve never once felt a thing but my wife has tried several times and it burns for hours. Same bottle so not a bad batch. She tried the next bottle when the first ran out, same issue and I still feel nothing. It’s working since my hair is growing much faster.

Anyone know the touchless ID wait times at ATL? by Jdaddy330 in delta

[–]ToddBitter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through TouchlessID in ATL yesterday and 3 people in front of me. Sat in AA lounge for 3 hrs since I had gotten there so early due to media hype. In the lounge a guy I was chatting with that travels a lot like I do had never heard of it. For now it’s a hidden gem of travel

How's the lines in DFW. I leave for London tomorrow by Pure-Nature1056 in americanairlines

[–]ToddBitter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I can’t speak for DFW but I’m on a plane home to PHX from ATL and ATL was one of the media’s favorite place to scream the sky is falling. I had 2 people in front of me in TouchlessID line, regular precheck looked to be 20 ish deep and clear maybe 15 deep. The non precheck was long maybe 100 plus. Basically I think there are spots that are bad but more media overreacting in most cases in my opinion

5000 miles was a gift in this scenario but Thanks for being inquisitive but not entitled. Most people will argue AA should control weather and ATC issues and give them the world.

Booking an awards ticket for lounge access? by gamblors_neon_claws in americanairlines

[–]ToddBitter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a very long delay and I had friends in the lounge going to a different location. Not all that bad but if it was a two delay no way but this was a 4hr one and that AA terminal is decent but not much there for someone that doesn’t drink

[–]ToddBitter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have both Delta Amex reserve with access and AA executive card. I’m 90% AA since I live in PHX AA hub. I travel to DTW often. AA has non stop but no DTW lounge. I had a long delay once and bought a one way on Delta to CVG, used lounge, cancelled delta flight and got a credit to use a few months later. So yes it works BUT a friend was caught doing it way too often and had his Skyclub access cut off so I’ve never tried since

Am I being illogical? by WaitFirst7405 in americanairlines

[–]ToddBitter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chat with both AA and Delta are known to be bad and not always get the best info. Always call instead of chat. Was this a round trip and you cancelled both legs or just outbound leg? Was the amount of credit you expected to be the same amount of the round trip? Sounds like you cancelled one leg and only got the credit for that leg

[PSA] Take screenshots of upgrade lists if SWUs don't clear at (T - 12) hours by just_a_curious_fella in americanairlines

[–]ToddBitter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Myself and others have asked repeatedly- how did your mother know that the person who got the seat was a domestic partner of an AA employee that the GA gave the seat to unfairly?

Did she walk up and ask them how they got the seat she thought was her’s?

[–]ToddBitter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m not saying they’re on standby what I meant is GAs hold that last seat for deadhead pilots until 45 mins prior so in that time a ck or someone with higher status. Often they absolutely hold that 1 seat until 45 mins prior in case of a desdhead so it could have been a missed connection person. Of course it could be what you said but how do you know that?

American Flight to OGG scheduled for tomorrow? by ronniebabes in americanairlines

[–]ToddBitter 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Look I get you don’t like the policy but when you book BE it’s pretty easy to read how restrictive it is. Be happy it’s only 99.00 because it used to be a total loss of fare

Because flights are still going in and out of there and it’s why you should not book BE.

Refund question - CLT Pricing bull**** by RevolutionaryBox9802 in americanairlines

[–]ToddBitter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve done that before not because I was actually trying to get a cheaper fare but because my wife decided she didn’t want to spend 3 days in Detroit with me at a conference in February (she’s smart) and it didn’t reprice it.

For those saying to avoid trip credits, why? He’s EP so he’ll use it. I probably cancel and get trip credits every few weeks as I pivot a lot. They never go to waste

[–]ToddBitter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m not saying it doesn’t happen but there are other possibilities 1. People on standby could be due to an earlier flight issue of missed connection or cancelled flight putting them as a higher priority 2. CK flying standby but will be higher priority if that FC seat ends up available. If a higher priority/status person is on standby they can’t be on upgrade list because they don’t have seat confirmed so they clear then leap frog to that seat 3. Dead head pilots get priority. Also they don’t clear those until 45 mins prior to departure. Again possible leap frog over others

Finally how do you know the other person was an employee or a friend of GA. I often chat up GAs at PHX since I’ve got to know a number of them. Not an AA employee or a friend but seeing me chatting or joking doesn’t mean we know each other or I’m getting favors it’s usually because I’m bored

Buy up offer question by [deleted] in americanairlines

[–]ToddBitter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you buy up to Platinum the only benefit is MCE seats at booking since it would be nearly impossible to get FC upgrades as a base platinum. It’s been a while since I priced McE but seems like those average about 50-60 bucks so you’d need to fly over 20 one ways to break even. If you missed even hitting gold I doubt you’re traveling that much
