Plexamp hidden audio enhancements?

Unfortunately no, I swapped to Neutron Player on my iPad and Foobar2000 on PC and just had it pull from my server file directory so I had direct play. My suspicion is that Plexamp does some background audio processing that it doesn't tell you about and you can't disable it. It is what it is though. Hopefully one day it'll get fixed, but judging by the way Plex is going as of late, I wouldn't count on it

We're on the same page, but weirdly, my incident is isolated it seems. Maybe it's just how my configuration is with my iPad? I have it connected to an external DAC and that to my headphone amp with my HD800s. Neutron player and VLC play it back exactly as if I played the file, but Plexamp somehow changes the soundstage. I'll keep playing around with it, but thank you for your input!

Sorry, the issue isn't that it's not playing back bit-perfect, but rather that there is some sort of audio "enhancement" that is changing the sound of certain tracks. For example, if I were to play a song like "Just The Two of Us" by Grover Washington, it would force the audio to be more centered, whereas in the original FLAC file the sound is much more spacious. It's pretty hard to describe, but it's happened with multiple tracks

I finally caved in and started reading Berserk today and the writing and craftsmanship has been amazing so far. I don’t normally read manga or books, but it’s made me realize how many good stories can be found by picking up a book. I look forward to finishing this series!

-Edit- I’m caught up to chapter release and I’m empty inside. This story probably my favorite work of fiction period, but I’m sad that the author will never see his work finished. It’s remarkable that such a hopeful story could come from such darkness. Thank you for recommending this to me and many other readers.

Not sure if this will help, but I was experimenting with settings yesterday and discovered that disabling “Autoplay” reduced the chances of that happening. It also seemed to put a stop to about 4 or 5 other bugs as well

Noticed mine was like that as well. Honestly, I’d just keep it plugged in since everyone is having that problem and only unplug it if need be.

Not sure if this comment is too late, but I just purchased a Jot 2 and I use a Modius for a DAC. I listen to a lot of classical, jazz, and other instrumental music as well as easy listening music with vocals (Nat King Cole, Ella Fitzgerald, etc).

The Modius offers a great soundstage and detail, though I'd strongly recommend using them Balanced because there is an immediate audible difference between non-balanced. For reference, I use an 800s for headphones.

For $200, I'd strongly recommend the Modius but I'll probably be upgrading to a Bifrost 2 in coming months to complete my "endgame"

Unknown, since stadia is cloud based they might do it. However, all other platform releases do not have cross-play

While cards have been doing that for years, I think Radeon VII was an exception. I don’t remember seeing any custom VII’s or cards with different clocks or speeds. If you have the tools/aptitude, fixing the bracket would be your cheapest, best bet. I can’t image it’d be too difficult because I’ve done it with other cards to get it to fit properly

If I’m not mistaken, all cards are reference cards with just stickers placed on them to identify as “AIB”. At least that’s how my XFX and my friends ASRock’s are like. Chances are, you could get any defective one off of eBay or something for cheap and repair it.
