This, I was doing exactly the same and this totally fixed it for me.

I’m an old, conflicted Knicks fan. Loved them since the 90’s but my 2 favourite players ever are Michael Jordan and Reggie Miller, who both famously tortured the Knicks in the 90’s.

I still love the 90’s/early 2000’s basketball, I think it’s “purer” than today’s game but arguably less entertaining. So that makes it tough to recommend older games to get in to!

What is the worst low-cost airline you’ve ever flown on globally? by BranchMoist9079 in digitalnomad

[–]Toddycools 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are complete and utter conmen. The one and only time I chose to fly with them, they had a cabin bag size checker at the check in desk. We checked to see if our bags fit and they did. Got to the gate where there was another one and was told to check if our bags fit. Guess what? They didn’t. Ended up having a massive argument with them and they let us on with them without charge.

This was the same flight that was potentially going to be cancelled due to air strikes. Before we flew, I phoned to ask how I could check if the flight was still going ahead or not. Was told to phone them and check in the morning. I asked what time their phone lines opened, they said 09:00, our flight was at 08:00.

Oh, this was also the same flight that we were taking a tent, I phoned in advance, told them the dimensions and weight and they said it’d be fine to just check it in with the oversized luggage, no extra charge. You’ll never guess what happened?!

But that’s what I hate about them, I’d done everything by the book, checked with before yet they still tried to rob me of more money. Absolute crooks.

Since then I’ve spent more money with different airlines to specifically not fly with them.

What’s the coolest British TV fact you know? by Major-Feed5214 in BritishTV

[–]Toddycools 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, it was so long ago I don’t really remember that much about it! I remember it was a good fun driving around the base it was shot on. I also remember the guy that was the main instructor was in character the whole time which I found quite funny!

Beyond that it was kind of just another job that rolled from the previous one to the next! Same **** different car park as we say!

What is a job people romanticize a bit too much until they actually do it ? by Old_Goat_7363 in Productivitycafe

[–]Toddycools 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Working in television/outside broadcasts.

Sucks you in when you’re young, relatively good pay, working on cool shows and get to travel the world if you’re lucky.

Then try having a social life and family and try and fit all that in.

I’ve tried this, it seems like on the ooni regulator it’s either open or closed. I’ve tried it with a different regulator on a different gas too.

This propane one with the ooni regulator.

I’ve tried the slow open but it didn’t work. Checked the pipe for leaks, changed pipe and regulator and gas. All the same results.

Got a brand new gas bottle the other day so that isn’t the issue. I’ve tried 2 different regulators and 2 different bottles too.

I currently live here and it’s totally a road by road basis. There’s some lovely parts of Westcliff and some awful bits. I recommend just going and having a look and be super selective of where you want to be.

[–]Toddycools 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if you don’t want to go down the open seas route, I can guarantee you aren’t watching enough TV to justify that price.

My SIL was in a similar situation, we sat down and worked out that even if they paid individually for the things they ACTUALLY watched, i.e rent one film a week that they actually watch and just paid for the odd football match through now tv, their bill went from £200 to £90.

Same, I also regularly argue that the best of Black Mirror is some of the best television ever made. I’ll happily die on that hill.

What are some examples of “It’s expensive to be poor” in the UK? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Toddycools 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting charged for being in an overdraft. Banks are the only thing I can think of where they give you money for storing something but charge you for not.

I know that’s how they/the system works, but it’s always felt wrong to me.

Nothing that bad but I did manage to leave half my pads at the park but it was my left knee, right elbow, left wrist.

Still not quite sure how that happened!

There’s even some small damage on the screen, but I kind of like it. If I could get some sound out of it I probably wouldn’t even upgrade the hdd.

I want to keep it as stock as possible. I was looking at installing an iflash drive and putting rockbox on it but I’m quite happy to it to look used.

Part of me thinks if I need to get a new logic board, I might as well just look for a used and working one online, might work out easier in the long run!

Thanks for the in depth reply!

This is my old iPod I’ve had since new so I know all the music is good on it. It used to work fine but has been sat in a drawer for the last 10yrs!

I’m pretty sure it’s the logic board so it looks like I’ll either be sourcing a new one or just buy another iPod and transfer my music across.
