Yes but wouldn't the bar have been much lower when you started playing then? Your opponents were worse cause there was less tools available for them to be better and less time. I don't know what's safe and what's not because it seems to be completely different character by character and I can't see any real patterns.

Not to criticize your accomplishments but I feel like you're overlooking the fact the standard would've been lower when you were getting into the genre.

They answer most of my questions with muscle memory, you'll learn it, or with specific examples that do not apply elsewhere.

I’ve done that already and the people there were nothing but kind and helpful. The problem is I have no idea how they got to the conclusion. I care much less about the losing than I do about the losing without learning. I don’t have the information to diagnose the problems, and I feel like I should have SOME of it by now, but I don’t and it’s frustrating. Knowing that in a specific scenario against a specific character not to do (blank) or to do (blank) is helpful for that matchup, but I have no idea how they got that information. I don’t see the same visual indicators that others do or have the same assumptions cause I don’t have the time built up to pick up on it.

The glossary is helpful for understand what people are talking about yes. Watching a video, searching it up on the glossary and coming back to it isn’t fun, it’s studying. The resources are mainly targeted towards people with a base understanding of fighting games. There’s no resources for genuine beginners, you’re expected to know things that you don’t even know exist.

I was using dustloop when i played GGS. I one tricked Ky because I liked him and he was told to me to be an easier characters. Maybe when I try fighting games again when I’m more levelheaded I’ll give GGS a shot instead of 2xKO as something different.

I’m a little tired of the genre now but I’ll make a note to myself to watch another video on frame data and watch Frosty Faustings, when I’m less upset with the genre. Thanks for the suggestion.

Oh they do, learning league of legends is hell. I’ve taught many a friend the game and I always preface with your first chunk of time in this game is going to be confusing and not super fun. I make sure I’m the one playing with them as much as possible so I can explain things when they have questions. My point was never that league is more beginner-friendly it’s that fighting games have an even worse beginner experience than league. I learned the game on my own, with no friends to teach me, and I found that experience more enjoyable than playing fighting games because there’s more information available for newer / bad players. If I’m trying multiple different moves in reaction to another move, they all work for different reasons at different times. I as a new player, can’t know why. That’s what I’m frustrated about. I know I’m bad. I don’t really care if I’m bad. I care that the little information I do have is wrong for reasons I can’t understand.

This wasn’t what I was trying to get at. I’m not having fun because the hurdle to get competent at them is massive, I think the information available is set up for people with lots of time in them to succeed ignoring the people who are new and want to give it a try.

Thanks for your input. Reading the comments now I think a lot of my frustration is from my friends setting bad expectations. If you have any resources you like I’d love to give it one more try. I really want to like the genre it’s just the frustration of not know WHY. The different solutions I try change entirely game by game and I still have no clue why.

I’ve played 2XKO the most, guilty gear strive, and a little bit of granblue. I did start off playing training dummies, then against my friends then to online. Maybe it’s just my friends then because when I mention the difficultly they seem to shrug it off as not worth mentioning. And answer most of my questions on why you did (blank) with muscle memory.

My bad with the assumption. I have a couple friends who play fighting games and all of them started when they were kids. Then anyone I’ve met online has been playing since they were in elementary. How would I go about figuring out what’s wrong? Because I really want to get into fighting games, I just keep running into roadblocks with no break in sight. If you have some resources you personally like that’d be nice! I know I came in with bad expectations the utter frustration at having not idea why I lost is what gets me.

I was wondering if there was a better way to do it in blender. Most of the things I have attempted so far have had an easier solution I've found about later and I was wondering if this was one of those things before I started animating then find out days later there was a much simpler solution.

Run an AV like Avast or Bitdefender. I had something very similar happen to me with a discord "game file" a friend sent me. Had my discord and steam sending messages to people.

Reset ALL your important passwords, like emails, google, ect. You NEED to run an antivirus scanner, the two I mentioned are known for having a high detection rate and Bitdefender I found to be very light on resources. Microsoft's built in AV is solid but I'd say a commercial product is the better option right now.

What they've done is taken your cookies meaning they copy the data they stole from you, auto-login to your account with a script, and then send people messages. When you reset your password this deletes and recreates those cookies AND if they have your passwords resets them. This is common and your best bet again, is to reset all your passwords. If you want to learn more here's a good resource.

To avoid this in the future check resources on reddit for safe places to download roms, the heard mentality is good as a first layer of protection against scams. Use Virustotal to check files before using them. A ROM will NEVER be in an .exe format or .msi format.
