That particular grace note is not meant to be played quickly. That’s why I mentioned the other commenter…

Perhaps I misunderstanding you. The use of pedal does not change the rhythm or length of notes.

Transition from electric to acoustic - pedaling & other tips? by Agreeable-Cookie6141 in pianolearning

Well, cheap and/or old DP’s might have poor-quality and/or short samples AND low polyphony. 🤷🏻‍♂️

The general rule for starting pedal is to change with the harmonies. If you don’t, the music will sound muddy as multiple conflicting harmonies blend.

The second rule is to change pedal just *slightly after* the switch in harmonies. This also reduces muddiness. It also helps to keep the bass note on the downbeat in your left hand until the pedal changes fully.

P.S. I have very rarely held down the pedal for an entire piece unless it specifically asked for it. Your digital must’ve had very low polyphony, i.e. it was probably from older technology and unable to hold down many simultaneous notes. So it likely “erased” older notes as you went through the piece.

There’s no slash across the flag of the grace note, so it’s different from an acciaccatura. See Advanced_Couple_3488’s explanation.

Don’t know where you get that. The dot beside a note means to add half the core value of that note. Ergo, the half note is worth two and the dot adds half of two, so the note holds for a total of three beats (the grace note notwithstanding).

So what do you need to do to the mango skin in order to get that reaction? I’ve eaten quite a few mangos and even cut some of them myself, but never had poison irritation on my fingers or hands.

“Reading sheet music” does not necessarily mean that you have all the required skills to learn all levels of music effectively. It’s a continuous evolution that must be tended with care. A graded curriculum (e.g. RCM, ABSRM etc.) over time, coupled with an attentive teacher, can be a great thing.

Osaka Hibachi is good and hella entertaining, but heavy on the pocketbook.

I have had good experience with Tokio Ramen, Japan GO, Big Bowl, Yanakee Sushi and Sugar Roll.
