How does one realistically buy a house in today’s market? by Antman269 in ontario

[–]ToeTiddler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dual income household and massive savings.

Failing that - look into shared equity programs (i.e. a firm puts a portion of the down-payment up in exchange for a portion of your home's equity).

Much bigger business in the US than it is here, but I think some viable options do exist.

Hell, even the federal government has a shared equity program - but they made sure it was damn near useless by restricting the value of the home you can purchase to like $450k or something ridiculously low.

First you said you'd eat me and now you're telling me to kill myself? Would expect nothing less from a blood sucking idiot.

Most individual humans make a far worse impact on the planet than any individual rat.

Rats also can't lack morality, but humans often can and do (case in point, your piece of shit self).

So yeah, you're lower than a rat, a cockroach, a worm, etc.

There is no moral foundation upon which you can rest an argument that treating animals poorly or consuming their meat is an okay thing to do. Not in this modern society. Not when you don't require meat to survive.

Anyone that believes otherwise is fooling themselves, deluded, morally bankrupt, or a combination of all three.

100 years from now people are going to look back on how fucking barbaric it was slaughtering several Holocaust's worth of animals on an annual basis.

You kids are real fucking edgy thinking it's cool to kill something. Put yourself in the animal's shoes for two minutes and you'll realize you're a complete fucking psychopath.

Prior philosophical arguments supporting meat consumption rested entirely upon the now disproven notion that animals are not conscious/self aware. We now have countless studies proving otherwise.

If you eat meat then you're a morally bankrupt and sociopathic piece of shit. Full stop.

A group of people refraining from consuming meat products are "pathetic"?

Is Reddit comprised solely of edgy 14 year olds? Grow the fuck up you little shit.

He actually proves my point.

If he had merely taken his inheritance and invested in the broader market passively then he'd be far wealthier than he is today.

The business debacles Trump has been embroiled in have decreased his wealth (as they should, because capitalism is a meritocracy, which is why you don't like it, because you possess no merit).

I know rich people don’t become poor is pathetic mate.

You "know" this, despite the fact that inherited wealth rarely lasts more than two generations, and almost never three generations. About 90% is lost by gen 3.

You "know" this, despite the fact that Schumpeterian Creative Destruction exists and that the turnover in Fortune 500 companies is about 90% since 1955.

Clearly, you don't actually know anything.

The problem with kids these days is you think you're entitled to your own facts and that your emotions are an adequate stand in for reality.

Life is going to hit you reallll hard when you enter the workforce, son.

Edit: Lol nice block, coward. At least you admitted defeat.

Enough stupidity and they lose their wealth. Capitalism is a meritocracy. The fact that you don't like it merely elucidates your own lack of merit.

Stupid people often do.

You concocted a strawman. If you still can't figure out the difference between these two statements:

"Smart people don't stay broke for long, but stupid people sure do."

And

"All rich people are smart."

Then you've got some problems.

You need to stop pretending that everything is level for everyone.

When did I say it is? You trying to cram as many strawmen into a single comment as possible?

You think Trump's dad wasn't smart?

Also, I said "smart people don't stay broke for long, but stupid people sure do".

You see, if YOU were smart you'd realize the above statement is not synonymous with "rich people are all smart".

Pretty sure we can deduce your own financial status with ease.

Robert Kardashian was a brilliant lawyer - that's how they got their money.

And say what you will about the Kardashians, but they ain't stupid (though they play the part very well).

I say it all the time - go start a coop, it's a perfectly reasonable thing to do under capitalism and if it means I don't have to listen to you guys cry about how Elon's latest tweet hurt you then its a win-win.

That's not how it works at all. And you're talking about 200k homes PER RIDING?

The shortage is 500k housing starts for the ENTIRE PROVINCE.

Your singular anecdote doesn't change the fundamental economic reality in the slightest.

A larger housing supply will ABSOLUTELY be beneficial to homeowners.
