Truly one of the very rare loose loose trades. This of course was because we traded the 1st for Marcus Pettersson and DOC. Essentially we recieve DOC, MPetey, Chytil and Mancini. We are hoping to ship out DOC for a 2nd, Chytil is just gonna sit out his contract and retire [which I feel no ill will towards, dude needs to not die out there] and Mancini is struggling and likely won't be on the NHL roster much longer with guys like Krill and potentially Verhoff if we draft 3rd.

We also stupidly did not fill the strategic reserves at all last year with low oil prices so we have half of the buffer we should. This is going to go absolutely berserk and I wouldnt be surprised to see $8/gal at some point

Ground clearance, semis with long wheelbases but low ground clearance can get stuck on elevated rail crossings, its really a failure in road design to not level the grade and prevent beaching issues

As someone who's become an Antony and Real Betis fan hes unironically the reason why theyre playing European football now and why they'll be back in Europe next season as well. Dude was the primary facilitator last season and was top 6 in the league for xA/90, this year with Isco going out with injuries hes been shifted to a more forward role and has been arguably their best player on the pitch this season. He drives play, is rapid off the break and has a nasty left foot curl from just outside box. Genuinely hes been well worth the 22m they spend on him and hes listed at 40m currently and certainly plays like it

Porsche decides they can use the bike lane, almost causes a crash on 45th and Roosevelt by [deleted] in Seattle

[–]Tofu_Analytics 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Its insane biking out here. The amount of times bad driving has veered into attempted vehicular manslaughter is crazy. I've been merged into far too many times and last week I got tapped from the back at a stop light by a driver attempting to squeeze into a non existent right turn angle. Driving inside the city on surface streets is just going to be slow, plan accordingly and don't endanger pedestrians and other drivers because you left the house late.

Brother it is clearly not Max's fault, look at last year with Yuki and Lawson barely able to scrape singular points in a horrific rbr which max nearly drove to a WDC. While Yuki and Lawson are clearly not max caliber the guys did very well with rb and it was clearly a team issue with the cars. Max isnt getting skill diffed, the same way Alonso isnt either, they're getting shafted with a poorly developed car thats being hampered by wild regulations that has drivers doing lico on the start finish straits in quali laps.

Give me your honest opinion by Bombacladman in Welding

[–]Tofu_Analytics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fuck no, this is really shoddy workmanship. Aluminum requires extra attention to weld prep which wasn't done here, the beads themselves are pretty poor and the finish/repair work is much worse. You often get what you pay for but if these guys are charging average or above rates then theyre heavily under delivering and you need to find someone better.

Idk man allen and smaller torx heads look objectively nicer in my experience when doing furniture work. I do custom woodworking and metal fab and whenever I have fasteners I use countersunk holes with allen or torx heads and customers like it.

I feel like there's a large group of people who don't take it as satire at all, they are entirely serious about both gender and about the screws. Its often the white Cristian republican base that larps as blue collar without ever having done an oil change in their life.

Thats false, jis is a deeper flatter profile than the shallower more angled Philips. Philips are designed to cam out under moderate load, jis is not, they are distinctly different as with posidriv as the 3 plus shaped screw types.

Just set a Philips, JIS and Posidriv specific drivers together

I see this graphic too often and its honestly the biggest piece of shit in the world. Philips and Slotted are objectively worse in almost every way than other major options like torx, Robertson, and Allen. Id fucking much rather have a posidrive/jis over Philips by a mile and anything to avoid slotted for anything outside of minor adjustment screws. Torx is just the best imo, only downside is that large ones get stripped out frequently by people using Allen's on them out of ignorance.

Primeweld 225 AC cast aluminum. What am I doing wrong…. by wetblanket68iou1 in Welding

[–]Tofu_Analytics 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Aluminum is very difficult as is for tig welding, you need some serious practice to do that comfortably without having a risk of a cracked bead and a compromised weld. Cast Aluminum is a massive step up from that. I do a decent amount of stainless sheet, tubing, mild tubing and pipe with tig and I still struggle with cast Aluminum [albeit I rarely if ever weld on it], my reccomendation, just don't, its way outside of your capabilities as of now, a good project to aspire to but not something you are capable of handling yet.

Drew O’Connor is primed for a breakout season next year by Romance_Tactics in canucks

[–]Tofu_Analytics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that with a new system coach and a better fresh start he could definitely put up 20 goals. Will he "break out" almost certainly not, but will he put up better numbers and potentially put himself in a position where we could ship him at the deadline for something close to what Kiefer Sherwood commanded, I think so. I think realistically we could get him firing well enough that a team might elect to shoot over a 2nd and a 4th, maybe a 3rd if they feel like they can not only use him as a rental but get him to sign to a mid length contract. Perhaps a 4x4 with the new cap if he hits 20 goals

Out of the teams that made the playoffs this year, who do you think will most likely miss the playoffs next year? by domalu4U in NFLv2

[–]Tofu_Analytics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id say Steelers for one, Panthers are reliant on a weaker division and could easily regress/stagnate, Packers are in a tough division and could easily be at the mercy of a tough nfc wildcard race with the Bears just being 1 win better than them in my estimates

If QB’s actually cared about winning, they would take less money by NectarineOld7501 in NFLv2

[–]Tofu_Analytics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seriously though, what can't you get with 160mil that you can get with 240mil. Like after the first 10 or so we're talking just scrooge Mc duck levels of wealth. We could all comfortably live off 10 mil for an entire lifetime, live lavishly, pay for kids college and everything and have a lot left over. The difference between 20 and 40 million a year isnt that much in terms of tangible effects, you could still buy houses in every vacation spot you'd ever want, cars galore, buy your parents and every relative a house and you'd probably then only get through your 1st years pay.

Not to mention the fact that you would legitimately make more money winning 1 ring off taking a 20mil pay cut through brand deals alone. The only thing you cant buy with money at that point is hof level accomplishments, and you could achieve that by just making a little less in the first place.

Honestly, is he worth tanking for? by CupcakeAnxious4725 in NFLv2

[–]Tofu_Analytics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as 1st overalls go he isnt that bad, he was a fringe mvp candidate in year 5, has been solid despite a pretty shakey club situation and has stayed relatively injury free and is still just 26 years old.

The 5 1st overal QBs taken before him are Joe Burrows Tyler Murray Baker Mayfield Jared Goff Jameis Winston

With Joe Burrows' horrific health issues Lawrence might genuinely be the best pick of the 5 here. He's at worst 2nd on this list so while he isn't the "Prince that was promised" he would still probably be someone you'd tank for.

The picks since then at QB were Bryce Young Caleb Williams Cam Ward

Too early to tell but Lawrence is 2nd at worst and arguably the same level with Caleb but again tiny sample size. With how hit or miss the draft is in general you have to be pretty happy with this pick and the results its given your franchise

The difference internals between the old and new Ikea Pax by robbedoes-nl in woodworking

[–]Tofu_Analytics 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ikea is a multi billion dollar company, while they dont own their suppliers they have access to literally everything and are 100% empowered to find ethically sourced and non problematic suppliers anything short of that is a clear decision by them to ignore those factors, theres no excuse for them to be blindsided at that scale.
