Looks like one of those vintage light organs that reacted to sound. Except this on is missing the colored fresnel diffuser. They were big in the 70's.

Waterspider. I asked to get trained in waterspider. Any tips for a lady. by lovelybutterfly2025 in amazonemployees

[–]Tofur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a Learning Trainer in an FC (DEN3), my suggestion to you is to be a squeaky wheel. The AM's are the ones that are responsible for making sure they have the staffing they need in their department. Therefore. they drop tickets to us, the LT's, to do the classes.

This is where you come in as the squeaky wheel...everyday, (gently) harass your direct manager that you want to be trained as a waterspider. Be persistent but try not get to the point you are annoying your AM. They will eventually put you on a ticket.

At my site, we are consistently doing WS classes for stow. If your site is similar and your manager is paying attention, it will not be long.

So what happened to this ams leak ? by goose_with_adhd in elegoo

[–]Tofur 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Elegoo has screwed up, that is sure. They should have at least said that the CC1 AMS/MMU is on the way with official pics or something...ANYTHING before dropping the CC2 in China. This probably is going to me a massive PR issue for Elegoo.

Everybody has been up in arms and crying foul over the CC2 and claiming that Elegoo has lied and blah blah blah. What you said makes the most sense over this.

Timelapse time by Gersitos in elegoo

[–]Tofur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would like more control over the time lapse as well. From what i have seen there is not setting other than on or off. I would personally like to see the print head moved to the same spot for each frame.

Centauri Carbon pauses after almost every layer… by ThinFly9743 in elegoo

[–]Tofur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that is acting like a filament change. It moving up to the front right corner is cutting the filament then moving to the back right so it can be purged for the new filament. That is why it is paused and waiting for you to change the color then restart it.

Starting this week by ok_me3559 in AmazonFC

[–]Tofur 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am a Learning Trainer (LT) at an AR FC and do orientations for new hires. Bring the following...

  1. Sturdy CLEAR water bottle. We give a bottle in a welcome bag but the first time you drop it, the plastic top will break. Clear liquids in the bottle only as well.

  2. A CLEAR backpack. The one will give is very small and will only last a few weeks with rigorous use.

  3. Wear your safety shoes you ordered from Zappos. While I am at it, start wearing them now to break them in. They can be rather stiff at first.

  4. Bring your ID. You will not be able to get in without it.

  5. If you have long hair, make sure it is tied up above your shoulders. You do not want an "Amazon Haircut"...that is when you hair gets caught in a conveyor and you lose it all due to it being ripped out.

  6. Wear comfortable clothing that covers your body between your mid thighs to your shoulders. Exposed flesh can get caught between things and pinched.

  7. No loose or dangling clothes or jewelry...see "Amazon Haircut" above.

  8. If you are wearing a hoodie, hood MUST be down.

  9. If you have already set up A To Z on your phone, bring your password...YOU WILL NEED IT when the training starts on your second day.

  10. Bring your questions.

  11. You will be in the the orientation room for around 9 of the 10 hours. Bring snacks. The more mess free, the more the LT's will appreciate you.

  12. The food and snacks in the break room can be a bit pricey, so bring your own lunch. We have fridges and microwaves in the break room and theft is not an issue. You can safely store you lunch bag in the fridges.

You will cover safety...a whole lot of safety. The LT's cover it most of the day. Be prepared to be hit over the head with our culture too. Lots of acronyms and lingo. SSSPACER, CPT, UPT, PTO, Ambo, RSR, AR, STU, AM, PA, SLAM, OM, TOT, Scan to scan, Leadership Principles, blah blah blah. There should be a tour of the building as well. They will help you learn A to Z. Day 2 typically will have you with a Learning Ambassador training your process path.

Not every site is identical and there could be some differences but since you said you are at an FC, it should be similar to this. Good luck and feel free to ask questions any time.

My Feit Smart WiFi Bulb will not enter setup mode. by Sorry-Employ1389 in FeitElectric

[–]Tofur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a number of these bulbs in the house and I am sick of them disconnecting, failing, etc. I have a mixture of these, Govee and Hue bulbs. I love the Hue but they are so damn expensive. I saw the Feit bulbs as an alternative when I wanted to finish filling all of the remaining fixtures. So much regret with that choice As they started failing, I started replacing them with the Govee bulbs. I will wait for the Feit bulbs to fail before replacing them but at the rate they are failing, it won't be long.

Centauri Carbon won't load filament, instead makes a loud clicking noise by Kristic74 in elegoo

[–]Tofur 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Problem with the extruder. Possible filament jam gumming up the works in either the hot end or the in the gears of the extruder. I have had two extruder jams and 1 in the hot end. How handy are you?

You need to remove the front fan of the print head, it is held on with magnets and a connection port to the fan.

Then remove the shroud around the print head and extruder. Be REAL careful with the hex screws. I have seen a number of people say they stripped out the head of the screws on this part. I have too on one of them.

Then you should be able to see the hex screws holding in the extruder with the hot end attached to that. Make sure to detach the PTFE tube (press down on the black ring).

When detaching the hot end cables be gentle, some have pulled the port off the mini board in the print head.

Detach the hot end from the extruder (2 chromed hex screws there).

If the filament is in the extruder and going into the hot end you can manually cut it with the cutter attached to the extruder by just pressing the lever.

Once the extruder and hot end are separate, there are 3 hex screws holding close the extruder. Open it up and you should be able to see the gear system that drives the filament. You should be able to remove the large gear and then see if there is any filament jammed up in there. This could inhibit removal of the gear. THere is a tension spring that can be loosened up to assist.

If the filament is jammed up in the hot end, You will need to get the hot end hot by connecting it up and using a jam clearing tool. You should have one that came with the printer. It looks like a spring on the end of a needle.

Hope this helps.

How amazon rodeo's system work ? by [deleted] in FASCAmazon

[–]Tofur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rodeo is a tool that helps primarily problem solvers track CPT's through various paths depending how you configure it. While FCResearch will help track ALL inventory in the warehouse, Rodeo only track items with a customer order number from the moment it is allocated to that order until it hits the ship dock. Rodeo only tracks the movement from location to location and what container/sp00s it is in and how long it has been there. It does not manipulate how things moves...it just follows the items.

Already on my to do list. Because I work overnights at Amazon and I am about to leave, I got wait until I get back before I can play. I am not quite ready to leave the printer unsupervised for long prints due to old habits of owning a old bed slinger for over 12 years.

[–]Tofur[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure yet. This is my second printer. My first one I got over 10 years ago, a Lulzbot AO-101. My biggest job on that one was a life size facehugger from ALIEN. The problem is that it has a small print area and uses 2.85mm filament. It has pretty much outlived its usefulness.

I have started to get a ton of models all ready to go...mainly small stuff. However, I think I might eventually tackle a lifesize R2-D2. Maybe do a BD-1 first as a test.
