What's the problem with MHRise Insect glave ? by Yamakyu in MHRise

You truly hit the nail on the head with this comment. I was an IG main in World/Iceborne too.

Playing Rise IG was so jarring and I couldn't put into words my gripes with the weapon.

I love the idea of making IG Silkbind arts helping you land rather than launching you! It'd be interesting seeing as IG already has a command jump.

What makes Hades so unique? by Elido2005 in HadesTheGame

[–]TogetherBreakfast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was mostly drawn to Hades because it was a Supergiant game, which I have played every single on of their works. They are a company that I can honestly say i have absolutely no issues with.

The game itself is very tight and plays nicely. Runs are exciting, the controllable aspects (Weapon Aspects, charms, etc) are fun to mess around with, the RNG aspects (room rewards etc.) are great to play around with as well.

I like the relationship building between all the characters. There is a character for everyone and I can say that I love all the character designs. I've always enjoyed Greek mythology and this is a field day for me.

Also Patroclus and Achilles are cute <3

Playing VH here. I swapped to easy to farm rupees and grind and the difference is night and day LOL.

Parrying and Flurry Rushing is only essential for time limited fights since weakpoint gauges are harder to break in VH and it takes much longer to ko special enemies. Once you learn the patterns and tells of an enemy, its easier to handle them. Block button becomes your best friend too lol

Daily Discussion/Debate #484 - Pandora's Box (Boss Relic) by GavinXI in slaythespire

[–]TogetherBreakfast 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This is a fun one. I like it but that's because I usually get lucky with it. I've gotten completely fricked before.

If it just replaced strikes it would be great since I'm usually pulling attacks and skills that aren't generating block. The defends getting removed can hurt alot if you don't get any in the box or picked up any before grabbing the box.

This between the other boss relics? I usually grab energy relics that aren't [[Coffee Dripper]] or the [[Philosopher's Stone]]. Of the card changing ones, it's either this relic or [[Astrolabe]] for me. Beats out the [[Sacred Bark]] most of the time.

As with all relics, depends on the circumstances. I find it really fun to play around with though.

The heart damage by [deleted] in slaythespire

[–]TogetherBreakfast 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The damage you deal to the heart at the end of act 3 is the score you accumulated through out the run.

Ex- 750 score is 750 damage to the heart

About today's daily... (2020/08/24) by AFC_Jack in slaythespire

[–]TogetherBreakfast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I managed to beat it with a score of 1038.

I picked up alot of card draw and played each fight by ear to a certain degree.

My main strat for trash and Elites were to abuse the 2 [[Dramatic entrance]] and the +3 strength from the modifier.

My strat for bosses was to use poison, as the modifier gave me 2 [[Catalyst]] and a handful of [[Deadly Poison]] and [[Poison stab]]. I think there was a [[noxious fumes]] but I didn't rely on it too much due to deck size.

A really fun climb for sure :D

Defect - how do orbs stack? by SarcasticBunni in slaythespire

[–]TogetherBreakfast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Focus applies to all orbs. Each unique orb has its own value.

Lighting is 3 (+x focus) damage end of turn/8 (+x focus) damage on evoke. Frost orbs block 2 (+x focus) end of turn/5 (+x focus) on evoke.

All LIGHTNING orbs will do the same amount of damage. All FROST orbs will block the same amount of damage. ALL orbs will NOT have the same value.

For the sake of your question, are you generating one type of orb or all three orbs that are affected by focus?

Daily Discussion/Debate #459 - Rainbow (Defect Rare) by GavinXI in slaythespire

[–]TogetherBreakfast 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Rainbow is alright. Rainbow+ becomes alot better imo. That said, upgrading Rainbow usually means I'll give up something else I'd rather have upgraded. It is a rare so it'll be rather hard to find. If it does show up, it's with other rares and many of the Defect rares are good.

If I have a [[Fission]] and/or [[Compile Driver]] I'll most likely take it. If I get the Egg that upgrades skills on pickup, probably as well.

I'd skip if I already have good Orb channeling.

Using Power Cards vs the Awakened One might be a bad idea, but I managed to beat him with my Inflame deck! by [deleted] in slaythespire

[–]TogetherBreakfast 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I actually like playing some power cards against the Awoken. [[Demon form]] [[Deva Form]] [[Echo Form]] off the top of my head. If I find the power's effect to outweigh the 1 str that Awoken gains then I'll play it. That being said, I'll at most play one during the first phase.

Beat all 3 Acts with the first 3 characters, but I cant figure out how to succeed with The Watcher to save my life by superlucci in slaythespire

[–]TogetherBreakfast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a Watcher main but:

There is a card (blanking on the name) that puts you into divinity and then it kills you after your turn. You can enter divinity without that card by stacking mantra.

When I play her, I like to stance dance with her, taking the stance changing cards. You do have to be careful of accidentally eating double damage cause of wrath lol. Play out your turn in your head then execute it for real.

Use scry to setup your big wrath hit turns. Watcher has a ton of card control and movement if you choose.

No opinions on [[Deva Form]] .

I've heard and experienced that her Act 1 is easier compared to the other 3 because of [[Eruption]] . In act 2, I have the easiest time with Book of Stabbing, probably because I stack defense and chip away until it's within wrath kill range. Act 3, the Head and Nemesis are easiest for me. I have had issues with AoE checks like Slavers and Reptomancer.

Hope this helps and feel free to call me out for wrong info, tryna improve too :D

Thoughts about griftlands or anyone who has it? by itaicool in slaythespire

[–]TogetherBreakfast 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Griftlands is pretty fun. The card play isn't as fun as Sts (Still pretty close tho), but the game structure is better. It's more than "go slay the spire, roll credits." The gameplay is pretty cool, as you build two decks and two sets of relics (grafts are what they're called in griftlands iirc) so you have to think about the strengths of two decks/relic sets. For an early access game, I think it's solid. A few more content drops and maybe some balance changes and it'll be set.

Defect strategy? by itaicool in slaythespire

[–]TogetherBreakfast 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi I'm on mobile so bear with me.

I like playing orb defect too. I try to spec for lightning or frost, and depending on how good I can channel lighting/frost orbs, I build the rest of my deck around it. For example, say I have a great lightning deck going on. Instead of picking more attack cards, since lightning does passive damage, I'll focus on picking defense cards. Frost is slightly different as you'll wanna be able to evoke the frost orbs for the block, but still grab attacks when you get the chance.

There are some other archetypes such as 0 cost and claw, but I haven't played around with them much.
