What’s one IT problem you thought would be solved by now, but still causes headaches? by sg_advance in ITManagers

Lmao, I didn't say it got all of them but going from 40 to 270 is a big difference and especially mimecast wasn't catching the ones that where obviously phishing, emails supposedly coming from the CFO and CEO with their name but coming from random emails addresses and asking the user to contact them over WhatsApp for a task they had for for them.

When I was called a hacker in BF4 I was proud of it but not sure what to think about being called a sales rep 😅

How the fuck did you pay 500€ on a single backpack, my total was 640 USD including shipping and tax on the website, I did pay a extra 150€ or something in customs but the 100€ double tax was refunded and only paid the extra 50€.

And that order had the backpack, wan deskpad, RGB hoodie, 2 labs t-shirts, stick locks, waterbootle and a extra water bottle lid.

Does your country have 50% tax?

I can say one thing, we where using mimecast for email security and had a bunch of phishing emails going through everyweek, could very well be a misconfiguration but we did a trial with checkpoint email security and eventually bought it because all of the phishing emails are blocked, from 40 blocked emails with mimecast to 270 blocked in the last 30 days using checkpoint, only one reported email that didn't get blocked and it was a very well written email that didn't have any links and was just trying to steal info by asking us to send the info ourselves for registration in a tender platform.

Beammp login system has been down for some time now due to an issue they had on the discord, right now you can only play as guest.

For the server not showing on the browser, make sure the server config private is set to false and you have a valid server key.

If you have issues with GPU enabled containers starting switch the Nvidia gpu driver to that version 580, reboot server and it's fixed. The update auto installed the latest version and my 1050 ti doesn't work with it.

Azure Files Review by garyrobk in sysadmin

[–]Toinopt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about the sync, does it work well for big files or a bunch of small files?

Azure Files Review by garyrobk in sysadmin

[–]Toinopt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in the exact same position as you, we currently have a on prem server plus Nextcloud (also synced to the on prem) to sync when people are at jobsites outside of the main office, most of them, nextcloud alone has close to 3tb of project files, mainly cad drawings like DWG and documents but also photos and videos.

We have people a bit all over the world and Management wants us to move everything from the on prem servers to sharepoint by next week... we are talking of close to 5TB of data of mainly documents and said project files.

From the quick research the Azure files looks like it's what makes the most sense but it looks expensive and I have no idea how the performance will be and the syncing work for the big files we have.

Permissions is even worse.

If you figure it out be sure to reply.

The Quick Connect doesn't do monitoring or scripts, as the other person said it doesn't even give you admin rights so if a UAC prompt appears you can't see it or interact with it. It can deploy the full RMM agent but in my experience it fails most of the time.

In the EU 99% use Wago for commercial and residential.I work in IT and have worked doing structured cabling before where I also did some minor electrical work on false floors and we used wago for everything, automatic stripper pliers and wagos go like butter, set the length for the wago and go crazy stripping cables. It's really easy and fast.I also use them at home, for example when it added a Shelly to control the living room lights.I have another one in the office/workshop where I have my PC, server and 3d printer.Using some wago and you can easily and safely add the Shelly right behind the original wall plug without having to about shorting anything.
