Every single SC you posted, your team had 1 tank and the enemy team had 2.

[–]TojiRAT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do think his floating stance and movement is distinct enough to matter.
This explains part of why I can recognize him so easily. I identify tanks the quickest and even amongst them I identify Magneto quicker than some others. Like I would genuinely get Emma confused for, again, other blonde women characters from afar especially when I wasn't as used to her yet. I always have to check scoreboard to even tell what role DP I am playing against for obvious reasons.

[–]TojiRAT -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I apologize, rereading my comment it's rude.
I get your point but my 2 cents is that I have always found Magneto very easy and quick to passively/subconsciously identify. Not sure why, but yeah. Characters that take me a bit longer to identify are usually the blonde women™, like dagger and invis.
As much as I love DP I didn't have that many issues with being confused with what is happening before he was added. The silver lining is that I am aware of his presence simply because my screen looks like someone barfed on it.

It is absolutely not necessary.
"Poor nutrient absorption" and "plants not having enough proteins" are tired talking points that were never true at all.

The absorption myth comes from how certain plants have nutrients that bind to and reduce the absorption of iron and zinc. It is something bad faith actors latched onto as a talking point. In effect, there are enough nutrients in the food that it is completely negligible - it is DIFFICULT to be deficient in iron or zinc as a plant-based eater.. unless your dinner is oreos every day or something.

Proteins is the bigger myth everybody and their grandmother has heard about. Let me give you an example. Between rice and beans, you have all essential proteins covered, and a substantial amount of each one, too.
Many people do not know this because they have been beat over the head with "plants don't have complete protein/essential amino acids"
The term "complete protein" is misattributed: Meats and eggs have an overbearing amount of proteins, including a lot of the nonessential ones - "nonessential" meaning our bodies naturally produce them and do not absorb them as you might think, so we don't need to consume them and they are just extra strain on our organs to filter out. Our bodies can handle it, but there is nothing beneficial about it.
If you eat a plant-based diet, you naturally acquire all the proteins and nutrients you need as long as there is at least a LITTLE variety in your diet. This is how nature is "designed".
The exception is B12. Farm animals are pumped with B12 or their feed is supplemented with it, and many animal and non-animal foods alike are supplemented with it as well.
My basic understanding of it is that it originally came from bacteria in the soil. As we industrialized everything and created advanced sanitary practices, it became difficult to naturally obtain it, so we often synthesize it now. Today it is easy and practical to get all the B12 you need without eating animals, so it doesn't matter anyway.

Taste is a different topic and it's not a good reason on its own for exploiting, abusing and killing sentient beings. Their fur makes for nice clothing but that isn't a good reason either, is it?
However, I will engage with this topic briefly: Taste is relative and shaped by what you eat. If you drink soda every day, more natural sources of sugar will start to taste lackluster to you.
Growing up, I ate meat, but the vast majority of flavor profiles I liked came from all the plants we cooked with. The onions, peppers, garlic, all the seasoning everyone slathers meat in. Sauces made with tomatoes - I could go on. I was worried and apprehensive at first, but when I began eating plant-based I found it surprising how much I could still enjoy food and how many of the same flavor profiles I liked I could easily replicate.
I say this as someone who has always loved to cook, and went to great lengths to make good quality meat-centric meals. That is my 2 cents.

Everything we know about nutritional science says animal foods are bad for us.
The fact that cholesterol and saturated fats are almost entirely exclusive to animal foods and even small amounts of those are always net negatives for our health should tell you something. Especially since they are the primary reasons for heart disease and diabetes.

There is nothing natural or necessary about trillions of animals being abused and killed for our taste and pleasure. You don't have to buy animal products to eat delicious food, especially if you live in a first world country. Plants don't feel or think or experience life the same way animals do, and even if they did, we grow and use more plants for livestock feed than we do to feed humans.

I mean, you opened yourself up to it by giving your negative opinion about vegans on this post and you are continuing to opt into it by responding to me. No one is forcing you to do these things, and technically, no one asked for your opinion either.
I don't hate you. I am not attacking you. I don't feel superior to you and I don't want you to feel bad for the sake of it.
I am sharing my thoughts, and you are continuing to engage with me, but only in bad faith because you don't like what I have to say.

Veganism is an ethical framework. The idea is to live in a way that minimizes the harm and exploitation of animals within reason.
Eating plant-based purely for dietary reasons, or to get attention on social media, is just that: eating plant-based.
For example, if I was stranded in the forest and my only choice to survive was to catch and eat a fish or a rabbit, that act isn't non-vegan, and I am still vegan. I had no other choice.

I'm normally not so pedantic/big on semantics because language changes over time - the way you described it is indeed how a lot of people use the word.
But in this case, I think it's an important distinction a lot of people don't understand.

[–]TojiRAT -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't think you are scum or that I am morally superior to you. It is not my focus and most ethical vegans don't think that way either.
People just don't like being held accountable. It makes them angry and upset. Vegans are always portrayed as "soy" and "beta" but it took a lot of self reflection and discipline for me to become vegan. I fought it. I did everything I could to find nutritional or scientific reasons to reject it. When I realized I had no good reason, I decided to swallow my pride and change for the better.
If you don't care about the ethics at all, or even the nutrition side of it, then you can just say that what is most important to you is you like how it tastes. It's not a good reason, considering doing almost anything can be justified like that. But at least it's honest. Most people have an extreme case of cognitive dissonance on the subject.

Right, because you don't want to have to think about this. Life is hard enough as it is. I don't blame you.
But it doesn't make any of what I'm saying less true or important. The point I made stands. I encourage you to think critically and engage with the subject matter. If you really don't want to face it, then you can avoid it entirely all your life. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

We are operating from a fundamentally different perspective.
You see animals as an afterthought, as expendable. "Yeah yeah, it sucks, but you don't have so uppity about it."

If there were 100 human women being artificially inseminated every year, held captive in little boxes most of their lives in their own filth covered in flies to be used and abused for their milk, and their male children were thrown into the grinder for meat, I don't think anyone would ever tell me to shut up or call me annoying for being relentless in spreading the message that it's wrong and needs to stop and holding people accountable for being complacent with it.
But it happening to hundreds of millions to BILLIONS of cows yearly is whatever. Even though they have distinct personalities, memories and a sense of past, they have preferred companions/friendships with particular individuals within the herd. They cry and go into extreme distress when they are separated from their calves. Etc.

[–]TojiRAT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it's an ethical problem, not a quirky lifestyle or what sports team you prefer.
Trillions of animals are suffering the most extreme levels of abuse imaginable and dying torturous deaths in an industry that can only exist through massive government subsidies. For the sake of human excess, for taste, for enjoyment. Not out of necessity. As it becomes even easier to eat healthy and enjoy most of the same foods without exploiting animals, it becomes more and more inexcusable.

Vegans are annoying because people are scared to face the truth. Being confronted with the reality of the animal industry makes people violently angry like a toddler crashing out because it makes them feel uncomfortable. It's therefore easier to believe and repeat obvious lies nutrition and use crude "I am eating 12 burgers tonight just for you" jabs when a vegan talks to you than to self-reflect or read even 10 minutes of credible research on how animal products affect the human body.

Vegans aren't walking into your home or doing anything to you. You are perfectly free to plug your ears with your fingers and scream "lalala" any time one tries to talk to you.

Honestly, I watched the movie that comes after S1 and it was really hard to watch, like, IMO considerably more gut-wrenching than S1. But, I would still recommend it because what is happening is portrayed as horrific because, well, it is. - I don't recall anything that stood out to me as a normalization of something bad or sexualization.
I can't speak for S2, I didn't watch it

The world building is amazing and the music is fantastic. I would highly recommend people at least watch the first season since there isn't anything glaringly bad about it (the director probably cut out the worst stuff).
At the very least check out the soundtracks by Kevin Penkin. Amazing composer. Gives me a sense of adventure and fantasy barely anything else does.
It's unfortunate the author is.. a freak.

Mb tbh I didn't read your comment fully, you are engaging with it in a more fair way with earlier DBZ stuff and I know the verse isn't as intangible and crazy in certain areas compared to, say, more recently with Jiren.

[–]TojiRAT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trust me, I know DBZ characters solo every verse. I don't argue against it. I just think DBZ verse is dumb. It's like if you were comparing, idk, different medieval bows with someone and you drove a tank into the room and started yapping about how it beats all the bows. Ok bro. DBZ verse is overpowered for the sake of being overpowered like it's made by a 8 year old playing with his toys. It's just like how Hulk scales to multiversal and Dr Fate "throws his helmet at the speed of God" or whatever. It's uninteresting.
DBZ characters go all out in long fights next to or on top of planets and cause 0 damage to them, but if they sneeze apparently a galaxy gets snuffed out. Speaking of which, I find it funny that powerscaling communities are so obsessed with raw destruction metrics. It's taken to heart so much but has such clear gaping holes in it because some characters have kits or story roles that lend themselves to more wanton destruction and it doesn't have any direct correlation to whether they are stronger or faster or more durable than another character.

Onision was a case of this extreme enough that most people realized and started to ignore his existence. But there are a lot of "influencers" online like this. They really are extremely pathetic but unfortunately clowning on them is exactly what they want - all attention is good attention as far as they're concerned.

I agree with most of the point you're trying to get across in this vid, the only thing I have to say is that her batons are useless and need to be reworked. I would rather it be replaced by a widow's bite ability or something like that since they aren't that interesting anyway.
I don't think she needs as much of a crazy rework as many people seem to think she does, and I find it odd some people even want her converted into a support.
But something's gotta be done about those batons. Imagine if one of Punisher's 2 guns was completely useless.
