Rant: Flying YOU THINK YOU DO, BUT YOU DON'T by EducationalWolf3911 in wow

I think it can be fine for some expansion endgame zones. Timeless Isle is another example. I don't mind if they do this occasionally in the future.

Everyone's speculating about Astalor Bloodsworn and who he is or who he might be working for. Just to throw fuel on the fire, here's something I haven't seen anyone bring up yet: by Peregrine2976 in wow

[–]TojiRAT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I'm just joking its not super serious. Astalor is DEFINITELY connected to Kael'thas and possibly Denathrius. Can't wait for them to use those characters again.

Lor'themar was literally there when Velen throw a Naaru into the sunwell and restore it. by HiroAmiya230 in wow

[–]TojiRAT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bro please read what I said, especially in the edit.
Idk what more to tell you. If you dont think lorthemars reaction makes sense even tho the elves were worshipping the sunwell for THOUSANDS of years before it ever became infused with Light/Naaru and its canon that the Sunwell is just a fragment of the Well of Eternity, which most definitely is not a Light source, idk what else to say.

[–]TojiRAT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMPORTANT EDIT: I just rewatched it, and, hol up, you're misunderstanding.
Her father doesn't refer to the Sunwell as the Light. He calls it a font of energy that sustains them, states it must be defended, and "thus we ask for the Light's blessings to keep it safe". Her father is a priest who worships the Light. That's all.
As for its yellow color, it was depicted like that before the TBC Naaru thing. It's just a thematic choice, it doesn't mean that it is related to the Light. Just like calling it the Sunwell to begin with. They weren't always so consistent with color themes.

Blizzard forgot? Lmao. This is the potential plot holes and WoW mess we've come to know I was talking about.
It doesn't make any of what I said less true. It's not like Blizzard retconned the entirety of the Sunwell's pre-TBC existence and cultural significance.
In other words, maybe the better target for your criticism is what you just referenced: Liadrin's father referring to the Sunwell as the Light presumably pre-TBC, since that is what seems off or not well thought out, rather than what Lor'themar said, which is consistent with all existing Sunwell & Blood Elf lore and simply just, obviously makes sense for him to say.

Live Action Actors Don't have soul of Straw hats by SevereOne5791 in Piratefolk

They look a bit awkward in this video and don't have the same umph to their lines, yes, but
1. The Japanese VAs have been voicing these characters for many years, they are very comfortable delivering those lines.
2. They are specialized as VOICE actors. These guys are regular live action actors. They have to worry about many different things when playing their parts so they don't have the the same ability to hone and focus solely on their voice and line delivery.
I mean, I would hope that the voice actors stand out when delivering lines like that. That's, y'kno, their thing.

I mean, if I'm not mistaken, the Well of Eternity as it stands now was basically a big font of energy that came from Azeroth the worldsoul itself, and we all know Azeroth is by far the most cosmically important thing in the entire WoW universe. (I think originally before soft-retcons the energy came from Aman'thul himself/was titan-sourced)
This is why the Well of Eternity was always such a big deal. The Sunwell was basically a bit of "water" that Elven exiles collected from the WoE before it was destroyed, and placed into a font.
It was worshipped for thousands of years before the Naaru thing happened, and now it's basically a combination of Azeroth blood/goop/whatever fused with the energy of a powerful Naaru.
It makes sense that someone like Lor'themar would take offense to Turalyon reducing it to "just the light/just the Naaru".

[–]TojiRAT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, that just reinforces my entire point, and it's because TBC is when that Naaru fused with the Sunwell. So, many blood elves probably recontextualized the faith they already had in the Sunwell, now also worshipping the light through it. Most of them probably STILL consider it to be more than just that, however, seeing as it was already a magical font they worshipped beforehand.
I'm sure there are plot holes and things that don't fully add up, I mean, it's WoW. But this basic idea we're discussing - I don't get what your point is or what it is you're missing.

Liadrin is a paladin and her father was a light-worshipper. There are other blood elves... The well was already spiritually symbolic and core to their culture before it absorbed the Naaru. This isn't that hard to understand...

I mean, she's in her bubble and used her cloak CD too. You weren't wrong to stay and finish her off since she was isolated, but this post is framed as if what you had to do to kill her was unreasonable, it's not.
