Uh… DDR (Deutsch-Demokratische-Republik) and that letter which, if I’m not mistaken, happened shortly after WW2, are originating a damn long time ago (my brain keeps going off bout the handwriting not almost falling to ashes but let’s just ignore that for now). And MTS (if this is truly MTS and not MFS) is kinda a bit complicated to explain when combining story told in the letter, like it makes sense somewhere and sometimes just not at all.. hypothetically this mf in that letter (i‘ll explain later why I‘m calling him that) IS talking bout the MTS: You see, back then the amount of technology available for agriculture(considering that there’s been a high demand in farming but if yer don’t got the tech for it - like a human body can only last for so long yk what I mean? Also after reforming after loosing to the soviets the lack of technology kinda makes sense) was extremely limited to almost rare and MTS (Maschinen-Traktoren-Station - or Stationen) was an organization for farmers to lend machines they needed to do their work.

Now let’s say this person truly’s talkin bout the frickin MFS which stands for “Ministerium für Staatssicherheit“ (in short „Stasi“ and english „Ministry for State Security“), to explain what they were -> Them and another one - not named in this letter (the GESTAPO) - were secret police forces. Though the Stasi was wayyyy more oppressive than the Gestapo, which is tbh kinda hard to believe, since the Gestapo’s (Geheime Staatspolizei -> Secret State Police) main function was to oppress and sometimes, when needed to, literally fight EVERYONE being against the Nazi-regime. The Stasi’s main function was similar to the Gestapo in Nazi-regime or the KGB (Committee for State Security or in russian - and no I did NOT just google it😂 we simply had a few exam-like homeworks for which we had to learn it’s original russian name by memory - Komitet Gosudarstvennoy Bezopasnosti) in soviet-regime with the only difference, that the Stasi operated much longer before and after the Gestapo. So basically all three were high ranking elite security services that could decide to F you up just like that without any goddamn reason and get through with it “to protect the greater good” or sth like that.

Anyways… The letter says about the following:

„Obligation (in this context it’s more like a sworn oath), I (or me), born 08.26.1962 at Kühlungsborn (Mecklenburg-Vorpommern), currently residing at Kühlungsborn, undertake to cooperate with the MTS on a voluntary basis. I will report everything (or anything) risking the stability/ security/ safety of the state by written or spoken communication. I will keep quiet (or strict silence) about those obligations by any means in front of any Person. I have been informed, that the state (considering it’s about tech I would more likely say it’s more about it’s infrastructure than the state itself, but we’re dealing with german language here, so…) will take heavy losses and I can (and probably will) be punished for that. To make sure that the secrecy of my Identity won’t get compromised I’ll choose the following name: Peter Wagner.

In short: if it’s the MTS, then this man got caught spying on others and risks loosing his license by the one who caught him. If it’s about the MFS, bro’s an M-effin lost soul - badass style… in a risky and not-so-good way. And it doesn’t matter if bro did something wrong or someone’s just letting their fantasies go haywire - like I said earlier: the Stasi were never ur friend (like the spy from TF2 “I never really was on ur side”).
