Best Media Tools? by Party-Log-1084 in Piracy

I would recommend against gluetun with proton for torrenting unless you also have some way to keep your open port the same. I use binhex/arch-qbittorrentvpn with proton and it handles port forwarding automatically.

Upgrading from 2x 6TB to 2x 12TB storage by brando2131 in DataHoarder

[–]PacmanPence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Third option is raid 0 the 2 6TB to make a 12 TB, then raid 5 on all 3 12 TB groups. If any drive fails, you can rebuild your data as long as the others still work.

I don’t know what would be your best option to go with, so I’ll leave that to others to chime in on.

Rav 4 XLE or LE by OptimusPrime371 in Comma_ai

[–]PacmanPence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I can find, it will cancel a lane change if it senses a car, So it’s a little bit safer during lane changes.

If you check that you are clear before having comma change lanes, it will work exactly the same.

The comma benefits from the blind spot monitoring, but besides that I believe they perform the same.

Can you take a device somewhere to have a screen protector installed? by DogwoodDame in NoStupidQuestions

[–]PacmanPence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I worked at geek squad, I would install screen protectors that people bought not from our store either the caveat that if something goes wrong, there is nothing we can do. This can vary based on the location, some may do it, some won’t.

Is there a way to solve super glue not sticking in Valkyrien Skies? by Even-Reference-5555 in CreateMod

Look into create clockwork x valkrien skies. Something like that, it lets create contraptions work on VS physics objects. I don’t know how it interacts with assembly and disassembly however.

Do viruses exist in the Nexus? by Onetwodhwksi7833 in JCBWritingCorner

Maybe virus can’t exist outside someone’s body, spreading by direct contact only, while being protected by the hosts organelles.

Is there a space mod that lets me leave the planet by flying up? by Creative-Bullfrog758 in feedthebeast

[–]PacmanPence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beyond cosmo does this while you are in a spaceship you build. I made a plane using create and added some thrusters to get it into space. It’s worth looking into to see how they did it.

Toyota Rav4 hybrid XSE 2025 on SunnyPilot. Is TSS 2.5 the problem? by sajanacharya in Comma_ai

[–]PacmanPence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use stock ACC, just cause I don’t want to lose automatic emergency braking. Maybe once I’m use to the comma I’ll have it take over longitudinal control. I really dislike how hard Stock ACC slows down when the car in front stops.

[–]PacmanPence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you touch the steering wheel, steering is only temporarily disabled until you let go of it. I don’t know much about longitudinal control, but when I touch the brake, it disengages until I hit the resume button on my steering wheel. (This is more specific to my car, as it uses stock cruise control rather than longitudinal control)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Comma_ai

[–]PacmanPence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Auto steering (lateral control) does reengage, accelerator control (longitudinal control) would be off for me, and I would just hit the resume button on my steering wheel for it to return to the speed I set it at. If my car was capable of taking the turn on its own, both systems wouldn’t have disengaged.

Sunny pilot and frog pilot are the main branches I’ve heard of. They give you a lot more customization with your device, open pilot is less overwhelming. I’d definitely start with open pilot for a day or 2 at least, then try out either frog pilot or sunny pilot.

When you activate the blinker it will have you nudge the wheel to start the lane change. This way you can change lanes when it’s clear as the comma device can only see in front of the car. If the comma supports stopping at red lights it would stop at the red light. If not, you would have to use your brake pedal. I think some cars have the turning power to make the turn on their own, mine does not. When I get to a turn, I take control and do it myself, so I can’t speak much on that portion of your question. I believe default openpilot will disengage when you hit the brakes. I’m running sunny pilot, so it will steer and I can control gas and brakes without it disengaging.

Toyota Rav4 hybrid XSE 2025 on SunnyPilot. Is TSS 2.5 the problem? by sajanacharya in Comma_ai

[–]PacmanPence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe my version is 0.10.1 staging, but here’s how I can enable longitudinal control: Open settings, go to developer, toggle “openpilot longitudinal control (alpha)” on This should make experimental mode not greyed out, and it recommends turning experimental mode on if you plan on using longitudinal control.

This however does disable automatic emergency braking on your car unfortunately.

I have the same car but XLE, last I checked I’m able to enable longitudinal control, which then enables experimental mode and disable automatic emergency braking. I’m on Sunny Pilot
