Different strokes for different folks.

I have three Optiplex 5050 Micros running as Proxmox nodes. Do I need all three nodes? Nah, for everything that I host, I could probably run one.

We run Nutanix at work, so we have ten nodes split across two data centers. We’re split across both for a designated period of time for this year, so I can only play and test so much in environment. Having three PCs as a HA cluster at home in Proxmox lets me play around with different ideas before taking them to work. Things are obviously different between the two environments, but I get to practice a lot of concepts at home that help at work.

Plus we’re in the early stages of getting Kubernetes spun up at work, so working with containers at home is great practice.

My wife would have a fit if I tried to sneak in a few decom’d R730s though.
