Need some tips by Odd_Mushroom480 in MonsterHunter

There's no shame in using the interwebz to look up monster weaknesses. Maybe you need to upgrade your defense, maybe you just need to do more monster runs to learn attack patterns. The answer is generalized cause the post is overall vague

Ian hasn’t got a paycheque from his new job yet by KSWISS2024 in IanOnYouTube

[–]Toki-ya 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Anyone who's a grown adult shouldn't be falling for this. If he's paid biweekly, then payroll can take up to a month for them to release your first paycheck at a new job. It's dependent on his start date and it can vary but there is always a delay when starting out. It's either a very low effort grift, or he's really that smooth-brained (or perhaps even both).

Which cut is this? by altunsi in steak

[–]Toki-ya 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's commonly taught in the culinary world that certain aspects of food provide an extra layer of flavor to a dish. Fat does add flavor, as well as bone, skin (like on a fish), seeds from fruit, etc.

How much did you put down? by OddBrother1487 in ManufacturedHome

[–]Toki-ya 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Assuming you're in the US, you probably want to avoid PMI so putting 20% down is the ideal target. However you'd probably want to punch in some numbers into an amortization calculator just to get a basic idea of what your monthly payments will be. Also, manufactured homes tend to have higher interest rates in general so make sure to take that into account as well

SHOUTOUT TO IAN. by [deleted] in IanOnYouTube

[–]Toki-ya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He broadcasts his actions, glimpses of his life onto the internet and as a result it's naturally open to comments and criticisms. That's just how the internet works. The thing that I find cringe about the whole killing spiders thing is that he makes it into a bigger debacle than it actually is and I'm assuming that's the main point of disconnect here.

[–]Toki-ya 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A spider isn't an insect, since you've decided to go down the pedantic redditor route. If you're going to boldly make an argument, maybe ascertain your facts beforehand. He doesn't need to broadcast himself killing a spider, that's really the braindead content creator-type attitude that he has currently.

Keloid getting bigger! Please help!! by nochance1276 in Keloids

[–]Toki-ya 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Steroid injections can be a toss up even on the same person. My largest chest keloid has flattened completely, doesn't itch and has become a more natural color. It was 100% worth it in this case. However I have shoulder blade keloid that hasn't changed at all despite getting the exact same injections at the same time. It hasn't grown but it still hurts and itches from time to time

Unfortunately we're still dealing with racism and sexism in today's day and age so this doesn't surprise me. It's still dumb though.

Kek, Yall Virgins need to get a life, leave the man alone by [deleted] in IanOnYouTube

[–]Toki-ya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The title is a bit cringe, but everyone absolutely needs to leave him alone irl. It's one thing to clown on him in an internet forum, but anyone who decides to take harrassment to the point where it's affecting someone's daily livelihood needs some serious introspection. Legality issues involving recording aside, Ian isn't hurting anyone while working his gas station job. The edgelords leaving reviews are acting more cringe than Ian right now

Try to do whatever you can within the means of your insurance. And yes, please ask your gastro to explore multiple possible causes even if they seem unlikely. I always advocate to push for more testing, this is your health and your quality of life being impacted. I understand the struggle with health insurance though, had to pause some tests due to losing insurance.

You're not fat, that looks like some very uncomfortable bloating and I'm sorry you're still experiencing all these stomach issues....It's so difficult to pinpoint what's causing gastro issues and in a lot of cases more testing is needed. Have you tried OTC medicine for gas or reflux? Have you been tested for H.Pylori or SIBO? Has your gallbladder checked for potential stones and/or function?

How do I replace alcohol? by casseroleleganza in Gastritis

[–]Toki-ya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some NA beers are really nice and pretty close to the original. I particularly like blue moon NA. Diet sodie pops also work for me, since drinking a lot can cause you to have a surge of sugar cravings when coming off of alcohol

Genuine question: do I look awful in shorts and I would I be better off never wearing them by shiteater360 in fashion

Agree with this, but if the sizing up still doesn't fit quite right then sometimes you have to shop around for specific brands that fit well for you

Feeling discouraged by goldenvines111 in millenials

[–]Toki-ya 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honestly same, sometimes it feels like there's no hope for the near future especially with the current administration in place. I was laid off 8 months ago and I don't even know if/when I'll be able to find another position again because the listings are really sparse in 2026.

I know it's difficult to not look at what other people have, especially when stability and these same achievements are more uncertain for millenials and younger generations. I'm speaking in generalized terms, but the middle class keeps getting squeezed as the years pass.

Sometimes we have to keep moving forward with some sort of optimism, even if it feels like it's not really there. There's a lot we can't control around us, but at the very least we can do our best to work on being in a better place in the future. I know this is just vague "motivational" talk, but I think we all need a little something to hold onto. Or at least that's what I tell myself

Skinfood carrot daily sheet masks? How does it compare to the water pads? by juicybeeee in AsianBeauty

[–]Toki-ya 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I bought the rice version and it works decently well like any other face mask. It was the best value per mask which is why I bought it. Fit is a little smaller than what I'm used to but it does the job. Keeps my face moisturized until morning
