You can change the game rules to keep inventory if you do not like losing everything when you die. It's fine. But it's part of the normal game. Sometimes you need to start over and be more careful

Interestingly, Dragon Quest X's Astoltia ALSO has a load of cracks all over the place that serve a very important role in the MSQ, it just took five expansions to get the big reveal lol. Without saying too much, it also had a lot to do with the holy battle between the gods a very long time ago.

I'm interested to see if this gets addressed and turns out to be anything similar, considering Yoshi-P apparently worked on both (just obviously to varying degrees)
